2026 vs 2022 Updated painting with characters in my comic. I tried using @escapemotions.com Rebelle 8Pro's engine vs. my old style of semi-mimic of thick paint. The new painting was done on stream. It went through many big changes due to poor planning 😅but I learned so much! #illustration

Can't believe this painting was made in 2022. Since then, 6 practice chapters and 1 full book of my manhua have been made. 3 years, much has changed. I'm waiting for Rebelle 8 to come out so I can utilize the new engine for the new painting on streams. Currently using Rebelle 7 to do underpainting.

I really enjoy Rebelle. It's been such a blessing to use it for asset creations. This set is created with 8B Color Pencil Brush on CP22 Cold Press Typography Pape, currently my favorite paper. Very excited for Rebelle 8! (Featuring characters from my manhua Sunshine Through the Willow Tree)

It's really hard to combat depression from social media. I'm glad I got into comic way later on life. I feel like I'd give up so much faster had I been younger and less mature coping with the negativity I feel from posting on these platforms.

Funny how some scenes written a year or 2 ago, I'd think they were must-haves. Then when I draw it out, it feels out of place and gets crossed out completely 😅 (the red parts were all of the changes made) That's it for now! Hopefully that explains my odd process 😂

Before I start drawing pages of a scene, I also review the paneling choices of the sequence and rework it as needed. Every stage hopefully improves the story a little bit. (/con.)

Drawing them out gives me new ideas, and shows me where I can add personality and worldbuilding details without being overly expository. Paneling serves as an editing process on top of editing the scripts themselves. (/con.)

A large portion of my story has been structured and written fully. I've written up to Act09, and the 1st book only covers up to the beginning of Act02. While I visualize these scripts, I often need to shrink, expand or even rewrite an entire scene. (/con.)

Paneling the book at once allows me to visualize the pacing and knowing how many pages a scene needs. It lets me spot repetitive details and flow of action. I'd then compile these thumbnails in CSP EX in book form, so I can read through it all before I begin. (/con.)
