Fantastic gig at BelloBar last night. After being exposed to the worst of what Dublin has to offer - i.e. Brown Thomas (I only go there to use the loo) - I really needed a cure for despair. @theocelots.bsky.social restored my faith. Tongue-in-cheek Elvis was just the icing on the cake.

Strauss's last four songs really had a hold on me this year. Shoutout to Scott McMicken and Emile Mosseri for some awesome albums this year as well.

The latest Neil Young Archives are absolutely fantastic, so well recorded and so much vulnerability! Feels like a really strong early album rather than a frantic collection. #neilyoung

Talk Talk 'Spirit of Eden' Mark Hollis sings like he’s searching for meaning inside the quiet. “I Believe in You” still sounds like a prayer whispered in the dark. Not an album you play, an album you let happen to you. Years on, it still feels infinite. Pure transcendence. #nowplaying🎧

We're still novices in the grand scheme of things, but we're super happy we decided to give them another spin and we think they sound great. We have the full band on them, the usual suspects Cillian & Lorcan Byrne and Conor Cunningham. Love, Ashley & Brandon

That all said, There's a lot of magic in being completely new to these things and allowing mistakes, so we love the old versions of these songs for these reasons, but since we're a bit more aware and our ears have grown immaculately in size, we wanted to give them another crack.

mixing, what we wanted to sound like, how to play to a metronome, how to sing into a microphone, how to practice mindfulness in the artful ways of Patrick Swayze, etc

We recorded five tracks, completely with our own noggins in the Summer of 2025, in our tiny rehearsal space studio in Leipzig. The songs, being nearly ten years old, written when we just finished school and didn't have the faintest notion about production,

The EP is called 'Revisions. There are some songs from the younger Ocelots, but it's an attempt to make the young Ocelots sound better by getting the Older Ocelots to produce them. A present to our younger selves from the future, and a cheeky side hustle for us before diving into album three.

We will make the rest of our catalogue 'Pay What You Want' on Bandcamp and continue to tour and create album three, which is looking now like a big exciting project, we've written at least three good songs for it.

The EP will go on all the other stream platforms a bit later:. As very active performers and mildly performative activists, we will not release the full EP on Spotify. If you're wondering why, please google "Spotify Bad" #boycottspotify #newsletter #independentmusic

Our second album was the result of a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2023, and we recorded it between Ireland & Germany. We shot these photos on a hill in Leipzig with Romanian photographer Anca Tintea, dressed as landlords.
