Exactly, more proper pushback earlier that was sustained, then every Trump/Putin meeting now would be harder or not happening by now. Both those regimes would be held back just that little more in 1 area, that would put pressure on them, cost them, then someone else can resist more elsewhere easier.

The numbers and strength part is that one gets strength to push a boundary that another already pushed somewhere else, even for other reasons, and they got away with it. Each roll of the dice a dictator rolls and is rewarded is giving to one of their mates a better odd for their next dice roll.

This idea may have been taken from the 1992 novel ‘Snow Crash’ This concept was in that book. I don’t know where this meme comes from but that book wrote about this very thing 30+ years ago. The author themselves may have known about this from earlier, don’t know about that part.

In Australia you can draw on the ballot paper so long as it is still very clear who you voted for. Writing your name rules you out. Abusive images etc won’t. Not good to do of course. You can use numbers, letters, Roman numerals, so long as you can tell what order etc. We also have compulsory voting
