While I wait for my latest absolute Batman issues to arrive it’s time to do some catch up. Absolute DC reading

Saros true ending complete. Few complaints with its new permanent progression system but there is no denying housemarque have crafted another extraordinary sci fi shooter. An absolute pleasure to play a game of this high quality and my favourite game of the year so far.

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 03/05/2026

I swear man, Saros better be up for nomination when it comes to art direction this year. These are the non spoilers kinda shots too

000

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 02/05/2026

It’s an actual pleasure to play a game as good as Saros and I’m still early on

010

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 01/05/2026

Saros is excellent. Housemarque are so so talented

000

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 22/04/2026

I reckon I could’ve gave you 100 guesses and you’d still never guess this is about a LEGO BATMAN GAME

"Sometimes I ask myself if Batman is just the suit or the man inside. Time to find out. "

Credits rolled on Replaced. A thoroughly enjoyable game. Arkhamlite combat in a 2.5d setting that tells an interesting story about an AI trapped in a humans body. The platforming is frustrating but in exchange I was presented with mesmerising landscapes. Fantastic world building too. Recommend

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 07/04/2026

They weren’t lying about mass effect being ahead of its time ey

010

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 10/03/2026

Fair enough sucker punch, you did it again with ghost of yotei legends.

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 17/02/2026

Rotta The Hutt has abs, what’s your excuse ?

There was only ever one man who could truly unite the Star Wars fanbase. The king has returned

000

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 09/02/2026

First Mass Effect down as I replay the series. Such an incredible franchise. The first is so unique, carries a sense of wonder and exploration as you traverse with the mako. The introductions to characters and howchoices + moments pay off in later games. Truly special. Onto 2

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 21/01/2026

Honestly just so disheartening to continuously put out content that strikes a balance of excitement/critique about games. Meanwhile all someone has to do is go “errr The marathon collectors edition doesn’t have big enough tits for me.” Buried under a load of crap

010

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 12/01/2026

Did a quick replay of Returnal this time on PC before Saros later this year and it's still one of my favourite games of the generation. The use of the dualsense, the environments and man that 4th boss fight still IS SICK. Only took me 5 runs total I was locked in

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 10/01/2026

Just imagine what Massive are going to do with the division 3.

000

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 31/12/2025

Massive entertainment are without doubt one of the most technically impressive out there and imo Ubisoft's best. Finally jumped into Avatar Frontiers of Pandora and the visuals are mad. Absolutely stunning and the 3rd person update is incredible.

Yeah so I'm having fun in Destiny 2 Renegades :) God I love Star Wars + Destiny

000

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 07/12/2025

Revan build acquired. Star wars is sick man, so is Destiny

010

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 06/12/2025

Tried to make my Hunter look like Revan in Destiny , now to get the red saber

010

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 04/12/2025

Rick The Door technician lives. He truly is an unstoppable being. Cool jedi survivor easter egg in Destiny 2

Love love LOVE DISPATCH. This is the kind of superhero game I've been asking for. It's got funny writing, it's animation is gorgeous and it's really well voice acted. Only one Episode in but I know this is going to be a special game from the get go.

I’m never erasing Cal, this guy is with me. Jedi 3 is going to be unbelievable

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 14/10/2025

Credits rolled on Ghost of Yotei. Just a beautifully crafted game that improves on Tsushima in practically every way. I liked Atsu more than Jin but Jin’s arc better. What a soundtrack too. Now the wait for Legends. Brilliant

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 07/09/2025

Reached Diamond rank at last in Rematch. Still issues to be ironed out but this is such a great football game man. Keen to see what slocap are bringing with season 1

000

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 03/09/2025

Enthralled by Hell is Us. It has such a unique atmosphere that mashes perfectly with it's brutal world it's crafted. There is no holding back. No map markers or waypoints has me jotting down every important note and has me engaged. Combat is okay-good but so far this is a great time.

Reading comprehension is at an all time low man. Had a whole thread of comments giving me abuse for disliking Helldivers when my video was about why Helldivers 2 is the gold standard for live service. Soon as it’s pointed out comment deleted and thread gone. The title:

Obsessed with Spider-Man 2's photo mode all over again. It looks insane on PC

000

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 08/08/2025

Spent a few hours with Mafia The Old Country. Visually, it's stunning. The characters and story are the highlights of the game. I think it stumbles at the start with mission design and weak gameplay but it eventually picks up the pace. Still, refreshing to have a linear game

There was only ever one correct way to kickstart Superman week @gameovergreggy.bsky.social

010

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 02/07/2025

I really thought nothing would touch expedition 33 this year. But Death Stranding is so special to me. I’m going for the platinum. Both exceptional. Both traumatic. I’m going to need therapy :))

010

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

Credits rolled on Death Stranding 2. The 2 sides of a Hideo Kojima game. What a beautiful, endearing story

020

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

Did that exact side of the map last night finished restoring both the monorail and the road. So satisfying

000

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 30/06/2025

Finished rebuilding all the roads and monorail on the east side of the map. For those who come after. #DeathStranding2

Not rolled credits yet. But death stranding 2 is so incredibly special. The worst part about it is the more I play it, the closer I am to finishing it

000

Matt @thematteffect.bsky.social · 25/06/2025

I am all in on Death Stranding 2. What a beautiful game. Improved in every way from the first. New character additions is fantastic too, emotional resonating
