I really do find it sad and pathetic a company worth in the billions of dollars is unable to communicate to its community through its own system or platform. Instead relay on a platform that breeds hate, generates AI CSAM, and loses users. Time to innovate @TeamYouTube @reneritchie.bsky.social

YouTube, imo, has video views all but useless as a metric in how your video is performing. Using engaged views as the new, true metric to follow. Thought the latest video was doing really great, only to realize that it's in line with the rest.

Fallacy of internet child bans
The British government will introduce a ban on social media access for all users under 16 years of age, set to take effect in 2027. UK prime minister Keir Starmer announced the plans on Monday, calling the move “the right step for Britain” and the best way to keep children safe online. I really don’t believe these bans are going to work. The kids are definitely going to be making workarounds faster than the supposed adults in the room will block. All this does is give bad parents yet anothe...

One Second Jump Cuts in Videos
I know I’m not the only person who has noticed this, watching many videos through YouTube and other networks. I’ve noticed for a few years that there is a growing abundance of jump cuts that are only one second long for each scene. The only thing I can think of is that the video was to be edited in this way for the short-attention span audience on TikTok or elsewhere. Maybe I’m just getting into the old man yells at clouds stage of life.
