I miss Twitter, I mean the pre-Musk stuff.

Barton L Smith @themagnuspi.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

You showed me the first evidence of SSW in a game I ever saw. Plus the baseballs. So, thanks.

NY Post is not renowned for the accuracy of their headlines!

Barton L Smith @themagnuspi.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

I'm not certain I can back that up!

Barton L Smith @themagnuspi.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

This was NOT on my 2026 bingo card-- quoted in the NY Post today. nypost.com/2026/10/09/o...

Why MLB’s moneyballers aim to resurrect the game’s trickiest pitch

After the Tampa Bay Rays trounced the Yankees with the old-school bunt, what’s on deck as baseball’s next big comeback? My money’s on the knuckleball.

If you're nutty enough to want to be a catcher, buying the kit makes a lot of sense. But bats are really out of control.

Barton L Smith @themagnuspi.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Well, the bag has 4 bat pockets, so...

Barton L Smith @themagnuspi.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

I am president of a little league, and I agree. Each team this year had 3 bats. No one used them. I saw a lot of $400 bats out there.

I'll bet lunch that there's a lot more than one.

I cannot believe the remnants of a hurricane will reach us Sunday, bringing more rain than we had between May and September.

It's an issue that you see the same ad 5-10 times per game. It's another issue that 1/2 of them are inappropriate for kids.

There's one thing I agree with Rob Manfred about: It's better when the series go 5 games.

Barton L Smith @themagnuspi.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Are these War.gov ads for real?

U.S. Department of War

The Department of War is America's largest government agency. With our military tracing its roots back to pre-Revolutionary times, the department has grown and evolved with our nation.

Thanks

Barton L Smith @themagnuspi.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

You'd also need the RPM and spin axis of the ball. I suspect we'll be talking about all these things for some time!

playing baseball indoors is stupid

Barton L Smith @themagnuspi.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Note that he was in that group of MAGA assholes that assaulted staff at Arlington. He’s in the selfies they took. Not buying this bullshit.

Decided to knuckle under and get Peacock. Guess what? I already have it. Been paying for it for the last year!

Barton L Smith @themagnuspi.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

By my count, I need 4 subscriptions to watch the season. MLB, Peacock, ESPN and Apple. Post season, add TBS>

Barton L Smith @themagnuspi.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Or at least some brand new network that has no real involvement in baseball.

Barton L Smith @themagnuspi.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

I want to thank everyone at TBS and Peacock (esp Peacock) for actively making most baseball fan's lives worse.

Barton L Smith @themagnuspi.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Proud of that one

I think they're gunna. But the point here is to own the libs. Don't think that'll do it.

Barton L Smith @themagnuspi.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

I know there are much bigger issues, but can we please think about the poor pitchers? Over 6000 feet. On the other hand, this would be the closest MLB ballpark to me.
