Hung out with my bestie and played commander. I got my storm count up to 10 and then cast Tasha's Hideous Laughter for the win.

Just saw the video from @theasianavenger.bsky.social with Darlight pheonix and realize this is likely why no one in my local meta is trading the birds anymore XD Might have to resort to online for my last two for Pioneer Mono Black Surveil Reanimator. XD

Hasbro has WotC making so many sets a year that product is being made too quickly, leading to shortages at local game stores, product delays, shipping errors, because of the rush and it negatively affects players and stores alike. I don't see many content creators talking about this (besides me)

Controller died (switches under the face buttons were dropping about 30% of inputs) so bought a new one, and printed a new controller holder for it to sit on. Also Cat in a cat trap on my desk for internet tax.

Computer, guitars, transformers, microphone, headset and PS5 controller.

I hung out with friends tonight, played some cards, laughed. I needed that. It's been a rough few weeks.

Took Prismari on a maiden voyage today. Absolutely slapped. Storm (5) Delayed Blast Fireball from exile. Storm (6) Mathemagics for 3. Made so many copies of Goldspan Dragon. Felt good.

Todays conversation. Elves of every flavor now technically exist. Void Elves, Fel Elves (Demon hunters), Arcane Elves, Sun Elves, Moon Elves, Fire Elves (Firelands/Arathi) Earth Elves (Haranir), Water Elves (I'm counting Naga here) Shadow/Decay Elves (Dark Hunters) And now Air Elves (Skyborne)

Watched the B4 game with @persephiroth.bsky.social @benbrode.bsky.social and @blackneto.bsky.social and I don't think I've laughed that hard at a game in a long time. Tempted to try to get Ben back on the podcast (tavern watch this time) to talk about his unhinged deck building XD

V 1.0 of my Prisarmi, the Inspiration deck, lovingly named TCC Exchange Student Fine Arts Degree. Is it a good deck? Dunno, but it has potentially to cast some very stupid spells a lot of times. moxfield.com/decks/qopBn2...

My monitors match again. Had a minor freakout that one was a brigther panel than the other (same brand and batch) which can happen because variance etc. but all is well.

Building a Prismari the Inspiration Storm deck, so these oldies get to be in daylight again.

Blue Elemental Blast, Hydro Blast, Counterspell, Red Elemental Blast, Pyroblast and Fireball MTG cards.

New monitor arrived. No flickering so that's good. But now that means I need to buy another of the same monitor so they match or my brain is going to yell at me. Also, after so long using a curved gaming monitor, using a flat panel now looks like the middle is bulging out at me XD

051

Joe "Lodur" Perez @themadshaman.com · 06/09/2026

Final verdict. My monitor's board is going. All ports have the same flicker, regardless of cable, refresh rate etc. Spare monitor does not exibit the behavior. new monitor will be here tuesday. This has been an expensive week for me in regard to tech. >.<

031

Joe "Lodur" Perez @themadshaman.com · 05/09/2026

In today's episode of "my tech keeps randomly tanking" My ear buds no longer charge, went and got new ones. My main monitor has started flickering (only the main montior secondary is fine) So either it's going or it's the cable. Got two new cables on the way. Hoping that sorts it.

Today in "Things I had to spend money on that I wasn't expecting" My headphone battery has started to go. I charged it Monday. Did a couple hours of raiding. went from 100% to 60% from like 3 hours of use when it used to last like 60 hours of use. So, bought new pair.

@gamegenic.com so, I tried to submit a contact on the website and the form is broken. I bought the hobbit Thorin art sleeves from a local game store on release. I've sleeved up and played ONE game with them and the art is already peeling off. This hasn't happened on other art sleeves from you.

We ran our first Canadian Highlander event today! (I came in fourth with a borrowed Naya deck *flex*) Our players had a great time, and I'm looking forward to the start of a community of Canlander here in Western New York! #canadianhighlander I feel like @loadingreadyrun.com would be proud of us.

Played 3 games of EDH today. G1: Lorehold, the Historian. I board wiped about 8 times before the kill, TPro'd twice and did shenanigans before winning. G2: Thorin Oakenshield (Dwarves and Artifacts), got blown out. Game 3 was something special though. Played Thorin again for game 3.

I got the new Ork Codex for 40k, and honestly I'm a little sad. They took all the cool unique speedfreaks models and basically eliminated them as just "buggies" :( The speed Waagh with the different trucks was my favorite thing.

Peter Cullen died. That's three icons in three days. Three voices of my youth. Three defining humans in my formative years of music, movie and media consumption. I know they were celebrities, and I didn't know them personally, it still feels like lights of joy being extinguished all the same

The state of support has become a joke. Have an issue where I couldn't complete a steam purchase with my prefered method of payment thought the client. Works through the web with that payment method. Clearly a client side issue. Do all the stuff I can find online. Fails.

One of the greatest covers of all time. I love Jazz and Blues. I cut my teeth on it, it's how I learned to play guitar. This whole album is a masterclass in Jazz and the variety there in and just amazing covers of 90's grunge songs that defined my youth. music.youtube.com/watch?v=wDwN...

My only gripe with the new keyboard is that the software to program it SUCKS. once you have a profile enabled, apparently, you just straight up can't modify it, and have to delete the profile and start over. I'm not the only one experiencing this, hopefully they'll fix it in a future release.

I got to play D&D today with my childhood best friend, another friend I haven't seen really in years and made some new friends along the way. Felt good. Now to get some art and a minuature for my first player character in what will be a long game in a very, very long time.

New keyboard has arrived. It is much thockier than the old low profile logitech g915 I was using. I like the sound a lot better and the feel of the keycaps are more comfortable as well as the typing angle. Latency seems the same as the old KB so not it's just getting used to it, also hotswappable!
