Just got back from a 2 week holiday in Wales, where I got to (amongst other things) experience day time temperatures under 20℃, see some sheep being sheared and trudge up and down some very hilly places.

I watched Supergirl and loved it - it's a fun, action packed comedy and didn't disappoint. Which is why I'm baffled how it is considered the worst DC movie ever when The Flash exists. That was a truly dire movie, reminiscent of how superheroes movies used to be pre-MCU.

Just watched The Sheep Detectives in the cinema and it was adorable. A flock of sheep help solve the murder of their shepherd cos the local bobby hasn't got 2 braincells to rub together. I'm not sure what else to write really. It's got sheep. They're adorable. Also adorable lambs too. #MovieReview

I watched Project Hail Mary and it was splendid. It keeps mostly to the plot of the book but there are some subtle changes that I think in some ways tone down the darker parts of it. Rocky is freaking adorable. It is definitely worth a watch.

My cyborgisation continues apace! I've had ocular augmentation for ages that allows me to observe things that aren't in front of my nose. But next I will expanding my aural abilities and I will be able to hear all manner of sounds I couldn't hear before, such as the full range of human speech 🤣

I also discovered today that my small local cinema has been keeping secrets from me. Their carrot cake is vegan! Not that I'm vegan, but I have issues with cow dairy, so it's often easier to take the vegan option rather than mess about changing stuff. Gonna be having that cake a lot more now 😁

I finally had a chance to watch the movie Goat. I'd seen the trailer ages back, but being a kids movie, my small local cinema doesn't put on any evening showings, so I had to make an effort to drag myself out early on the weekend. And it was indeed GOAT. #moviereview

Well that was a first (and hopefully last) - I some how managed to misjudge the last couple of steps on the stairs down whilst taking out the recycling. No lasting damage, but my ankle is definitely not happy about things. Which is really sucky timing as I have dancing plans this week 😭

The latest addition to the franchise, Predator: Badlands, is a very enjoyable movie. This one diverges from the usual format, by having the Predator be the protagonist. He is a young Yautja (they have a species name now?!?) whose clan considers him a runt, worthy only of death.

One of the key themes of the Tron universe is that you can tell who the good guys are vs the bad guys cos the former are a pale blue and the latter are a dark red. So I find it very telling that Disney rendered their logo in a dark red colour.

The Roses is loosely based off of the book The War of the Roses (itself made into a movie back in 80s) and is a dark comedy about a couple whose marriage is going off the rails. I don't remember much about the version from the 80s, but I feel this is a fresh re-imagining of the story.
