EVICTION MORATORIUM
No evictions under occupation. This is the easiest action the Governor can take to care for Minnesotans.

The legislature should open a so0 million rent reliet fund. It should come with strong tenant protections.
SOLIDARITY
If thousands of us who can pay our rent decided not to pay, we create a buffer around those who cannot pay, mucking up eviction courts and landlords' financials.

ECONOMIC DISRUPTION
The rent is the biggest bill for most tenants, a major challenge in a moment of crisis, but also an opportunity for a different kind of leverage. Compared to other forms of economic disruption, like time-limited or corporation-specific boycotts, or calling out from a day of work, a rent strike could pose an unwieldy, unpredictable economic problem for capital, which could force a political response.

HOW WOULD A CITIES-WIDE
RENT STRIKE WORK?
This only works if it is real. The strike cannot be just vibes-based, or exist only on social media. We are committed to organizing a real base of people who are actually ready to withhold rent. tests (hich measure participation be tore ture would go on strike. Right now we are in the first phase, which is the strike drive. During this phase we assess our power. If we reach at least 10,000 commitments and we pass our other tests, we will call for strike authorization, which would occur in a meeting of Twin Cities Tenants on February 28.
Authorization is the last chance for our targets to meet our demands. If we are ready, and if they fail to do so, we strike on March 1.

my extended family member works for border patrol and his wife told me that he's being dispatched along with hundreds of other agents to Minneapolis tonight. This seems to have something to do with Trump's post earlier this morning. It sounds like they're trying to quell the protests all in one night, sounded like a huge operation the way she described it, possibly the biggest yet.

update: sorry for taking so long, she finally gave me a proper update. i'll just preface this by saying she does not condone what ice or border patrol is doing whatsoever, she was a centrist who didn't care much about this issue till that woman got shot and killed last week. from what i can understand shes had fights with her husband about this for the past few days.

Heads up: We have it on very good authority that for the next THREE weeks, MSP will be extremely ICE-y. They will be verifying documents of both employees and customers for departures and arrivals from both terminals. ICE will be present inside jet bridges as well.

"Hi All,
For your information, and in the event of questions from our customers, for the next 3 weeks ICE (the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement) will be present at MSP airport.
They will be verifying documents of both employees and customers for departures and arrivals from both terminals.
ICE will be present inside jet bridges as well.
Note this is not something we are communicating to the customers in advance (other European carriers are also not sending out preflight emails about this, however in the event of customer questions, you have been informed. The flight crew has also been informed about the additional presence at the airport.
