Fun fact: Undermine is actually bigger than what we see in-game! One of the drill operators says the part we're in is just "downtown" and the RPG even mentions a whole network of tunnels that connect the city's different centers beneath Kezan/nearby islands.

An excerpt from the Lands of Mystery RPG. (The author of this post would like you to know that the RPG is not technically canon). It reads:

Undermine is the center of goblin civilization. It is located beneath and within Kezan, and is connected to the island via a series of volcanic tunnels. The main centers of Undermine are in volcanic caverns beneath Kezan. Secondary island caverns exist farther away, and the goblins have constructed tunnels of thick glass that lead to these smaller areas. Passing through these tubes means walking along the ocean's floor and looking out to see the colorful fish and hungry sharks nearby. Weird.

Drill operator gossip dialogue in Undermine. It says:

If you're waitin' for this drill, you're outta luck. Apparently they had flamingos nestin' in the fuel intake over at the other station. Gonna take forever to clean out.

An option to ask, "Where does this drill connect to?" is at the bottom.

Drill operator gossip dialogue in Undermine, responding to a question about where one of the drills goes to. It says:

Another side of Undermine. But you're in downtown right now. This is where all the good grub is anyway.

An excerpt from The Blank Scroll short story. It makes reference to "Pyrix", one of Undermine's sluicetowns.

The last time we saw Gallywix before Undermine(d) was in Tazavesh, where he appeared to be making a deal with the brokers of Cartel Xy 🤔 Do you think we'll see the payoff of that deal in Undermine(d)? Possibly at the end of the raid?

A screenshot of Gallywix as seen in Tazavesh. He's standing in front of a plush couch, a broker to his right.

Another screenshot of Gallywix in Tazavesh, but this one from behind to show the three broker negotiators on the couch opposite the former Trade Prince.

Honorable mentions for this guy, who made it all the way out of the RPG! (Though I think he also gets a mention in the Traveler novels). Also technically left out Hobart Grapplehammer who shows up *many times* between the goblin starting zone and heritage questline.

A screenshot of a goblin named Enric Torque in Undermine.

An excerpt from the Lands of Mystery RPG about Enric Torque. It says:

Captain of the Shattered Dagger, Enric is a goblin who is relatively new to the Blackwater Raiders, but has become a respected and feared member. He has an uncanny ability to judge weather and sea conditions, and once challenged one of the other captains in the Blackwater Raiders to a race. He did so on a day he could taste a storm on the air; the other captain got well ahead, pleased with his progress, until his ship was struck by lightning and sank, burning. Some of the Blackwater Raiders believes he commands the weather to do his will. Small even for a goblin, Enric attacks the knees and tendons of his opponents, preferring to cripple them before dissecting them.

Here's just a few familiar goblin faces you might stumble across in Undermine and where you've seen them before 🚀

A chart that shows some goblin NPCs in Undermine side by side with other places they've popped up in World of Warcraft. From the top left going clockwise: Sassy Hardwrench, who pops up in the goblin starting zone. Pozzik, who appears in Shimmering Flats in both vanilla and Cataclysm. Crank Greasefuse from the goblin heritage questline. Noggle Ficklespragg and, below that, his cousin Beetix Ficklespragg, both of whom can be found in Silithus. Then Mother Goldskimmer and Ace from the goblin starting zone. Crazz and Fin Fizracket, pirates from Booty Bay. And lastly, Izzy, who's also in the goblin starting zone.

Valentine’s Day has always been a fun subject for Gnomebruary themes. 2022’s entry featuring Saffy and Grizek renewing their vows in Mechagon is definitely one of our favorite results. How has your gnome’s love life been?

For Gnomebruary 2020 (f-i-v-e years ago 😳), I started to make real use of the comic format. Here's a little lookback at some of the entries!

061

The Lost Codex @thelostcodex.bsky.social · 03/02/2025

These past few years, #Gnomebruary2025 has been a nice change of pace. A chance to flex creative muscles a little differently by focusing on single images or comics instead of video. Not to mention a chance to develop a Gnome paladin OC a bit more ☺️ How has your gnome changed throughout the years?

This year's schedule prevents us from joining #Gnomebruary2025 much ourselves, BUT that doesn't stop us from lauching it! We invite everyone to share their Gnome-themed art this month. If you need inspiration, we've got a big ol' list for you as usual, enjoy!
