Didn’t know about this until tonight. Can’t wait to watch. I’ve got so much to learn.

Direct streaming. Had to get rid of YTTV because picture quality was horrendous, especially for sports.

Went with wife to Walmart. It’s bad out there.

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

So we apparently had six earthquakes between midnight and 7:30 am today…all 1.8 to 2.7. It’s fine. Everything is just peachy.

110

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

Exactly. And that’s certainly also driven down his value for other clubs.

010

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

Herrera was clearly sent down for throws. I wouldn’t argue against them doing it. But he should have had more of a leash the last two months, especially when Contreras was hurt and they were out of the race. That was the time to teach and/or find out more.

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

I didn’t realize that about him. That’s nice! One position my son played less than any other except 2B was C, so I cared little about most of it. And I was CF, so it was furthest from me, not physically and from an interest standpoint.

110

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

I will not listen or learn anything from someone who starts with me like that. Respect? Yeah. Teach me. Tell me why I’m wrong. I’m completely open. This ain’t that.

110

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

I started in on the convo where I replied. Went back to read some of his thoughts and my head started to hurt. Too many in the media react like he did. Good for clicks or listens or whatever. And while we all believe what we believe, I like to be open to learning.

210

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

His initial reply to me was so weird. I was simply replying to you, albeit your conversation with him. Whatever. I’ve hardly ever interacted with him. Now I remember why.

110

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

“It is clear you do not understand how the catching position impacts the game.” Like, come on. Get out of here with that crap.

120

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

@otlee.bsky.social boy, why is talking Cards catching so upsetting for folks? 🤣🤣

120

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

That’s just $680 million more than the #StLCards have ever given to a free agent outside of the org. No problem.

020

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

I really need to see Arenado dealt from #StLCards this week. Take on a bad contract (Chris Taylor) for a better return (Emmet Sheehan). Plenty of options for 3B in 2025.

000

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

The #StLCards MUST deal Ryan Helsley. Soon. This piece does a good job demonstrating how 7 clear fits and around 20 teams that are at least possible fits. Helsley, Williams and Tanner Scott and the three best closers out there, and Helsley is the best.

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

Wow. Never been a fan of hers, but pairing her up with Russo may have chipped away at her brain.

110

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 05/12/2024

And it’s the absolute worst scenario

110

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 05/12/2024

I know. To me, that’s the treading water part

110

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 05/12/2024

Treading water is the last thing they should do. There’s really no argument they could make for keeping him.

120

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 05/12/2024

If they hang on to Helsley, fire everyone.

000

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 05/12/2024

Great piece, Katie! Always appreciate it, but I really love hearing about the new hires. I’m cautiously optimistic!!

000

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 05/12/2024

I didn’t know I needed that until now.

000

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 03/12/2024

I didn’t say what you were a legend at!

010

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 03/12/2024

SEMO is where I was at the time. It was all over campus, obviously, but none of the kids I hung around with believed it at all. I think living on it now and for so long, you just get numb to it and don’t think about it. I’m just assuming if it happens now, I’m dead.

110

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 03/12/2024

Not at all. I was a freshman in college close by. Honestly, I didn’t care at the time. Interestingly enough, I was city administrator there for 7+ years fairly recently. I never thought about earthquakes without someone/something reminding me.

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 01/12/2024

I’m now going down a Domino/Sweet Potato Pie rabbit hole. Thanks! 🤣🤣

010

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 29/11/2024

I won’t begin to tell you how much of a fan I was! From 83 to 95 was my sweet spot with it. Started going to concerts in 86 in junior high. DJ’d parties through high school. Couldn’t get enough, which was hard at first being in rural Missouri.

020

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 29/11/2024

Flav…if there was an annual award for positivity and uplifting others, you’d be the unanimous winner for 2024. Living seeing what you do. Much love.

050

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 29/11/2024

I can’t allow that to be New Jack. Sorry. Underrated song.

120

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 29/11/2024

I read that just like he said it. Great episode.

010

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

Thanks for the answer. Yeah, that all makes sense. You guys list a great owner!

010

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

I wouldn’t mind getting Stone closer to home, and although he is out all season, I doubt he’s available. But maybe Sheehan is in same boat.

020

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

Think he’d want to go there? I don’t, but that’s mostly because I think he wants to go out west.

020

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

I’d guess Nolan hopes it is there, too. I’d take an injured Sheehan in return.

120

Richard McGill @thelostbeastieboy.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

Are Padres writers not doing so? Genuinely asking. #StLCards writers have done a fantastic job covering it. And while I agree that it’s hurting revenue, I’m still mad at ownership for how my favorite team is being run.
