MIXED DANCES OF A LOST WORLD. You gotta boogie to your best ability. You gotta funk it up until it knocks you down. And when you've funked enough, make sure you pass it around. #thecure @thecure.com #hiphopfusion #lindyhopdance #mixesofalostworld #dronenodrone

An atom walks into a bar, bartender says, "Rough day?" Atom says, "Yeah, I lost an electron." Bartender asks, "You sure?" Atom says, "Yeah, I'm positive!"

Used to be a time where you could do your hair like this and it would last all day. But with today's products, you're lucky to get 20 minutes before it goes flat!

Multi-colored shadow/silhouette of me with my hair done like Robert Smith of The Cure.

How it started vs How it's going. Our Queen, Pumpkin. She's the one who's in charge around here.

Portuguese Man O'War, Flagler Beach, Florida, February 2018 (photo by me.) The beach was fully populated with these and I stepped on a tentacle of one that day. Didn't hurt as bad as I would have thought but I don't recommend!

Robert Smith Shellflower design guitar that I surprised my husband with last year. Turns out, it was made on our wedding anniversary, and if that wasn't good enough, I ordered it on 10/15!! He plays it at least 1-2x/week. It has a terrific sound. More on that later.

Of course we learned Lindy Hop to traditional big band and swing music, but that idea was such a bore. Practicing our 1015 Saturday Night choreography to Baby Screams November 2023. #thecure #lindyhop #dance

This is my version of Robert's hair, from my middle school ID. My favorite books were Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, R.L. Stevenson, Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, Mary Shelley, and When Rabbit Howls, the Troops for Truddi Chase. Fav bands, The Cure, Jane's Addiction, NWA.

One day in 2023, I decided to make cupcakes in the likeness of The Cure. Not my best work, but it was fun. I think I unintentionally gave Robert a nose scrunch.

The last time I was this close to that tile mural, I was as tall as the little yellow flower, bottom right. Who'd have thought you could swing dance to Harold And Joe? Full video on instagram: TheLindyHopCure.

Explain your username. We call ourselves The Lindy Hop Cure because we dance 1930's Lindy Hop to The Cure’s music. Traditionally, Lindy Hop is danced to big band or jazz, but we are trying to modernize it. It is our version of interpretive dance (to much better music!)
