The use of black and white cinematography and the shadows together are so delightful, I almost ignored the genuinely good story of sexual repression and societal pressure on women. Cat People genuinely feels ahead of its time.

The Witcher books and their treatment of every single woman in the series are especially bad for this, worst for Ciri, but it's bad all the way down. They try to clean it up in the games, but it's half baked at best imo.

You spend the whole film playing off how desperate May is or even having a laugh about it, then you go from shocked about her actions to genuinely empathetic in that final heart wrenching scene. I'm genuinely impressed how well this film understands loneliness and rejection.

As a Flanagan fan, I really wanted to like this, and even though I think he did a really good job of treading the specific genre of 2010s supernatural horror franchise, I think this is probably one of the weakest things I've seen by him and it ends up blending in with a lot of lesser/similar films.

I'm not anywhere near as far as others are into this game, but the best one I made so far was for my girl Alice and I'm so proud of it

Rewatched The Lair of the White Worm! I forgot how genuinely fun this film is! What a demented creature feature that could also be CoC scenario. Check it out if you want to see those scariest reveals of a strap-on and Peter Capaldi charming a snake-man using bagpipes! Goofy B-movie joy all around!

The more I sit on this one, the more I recognize that it is a very good and powerful contemplation on grief and loss, even if I felt like it missed the mark for me. Venice looked beautiful as well, more horror should be set there.

The Stendhal Syndrome was distinctly okay, there are parts that I really enjoyed, like Asia Argento's performance coming off truly unhinged, but it ultimately went nowhere and has aged pretty badly in terms of mental health depictions

Actually, I'm gonna start a thread for the spooky films I'm watching in October

I watched Don't Look Now last night and I just cannot figure out why it didn't work for me. Beautiful cinematography, genuinely well told story, great chemistry between the leads. But for some reason it didn't land, I really want to like it as well.

High and Low is extremely underrated when it comes to Kurosawa films, amazing pick 🙏

Don't get me wrong, I have thousands of hours across both destiny games and I'm very hyped that so much destiny 2 will be coming back, not to mention that this is a huge W for game preservation. But I can tell what's going to happen after being a fan of the franchise for so long.

Thelephora @thelephora.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

My absolute hot take on the destiny 2 stuff is that I think that Bungie/Sony will consider it an expensive mistake to unvault stuff in the future. Bungie already showed off stats about how little people were playing that old content when vaulting was announced.

Oh absolutely, that's a man who is in for long term suffering and he barely ever gets a good day where he can win. I hope you enjoy the series!

Pour one out for Lenore who just died in a TPK, she was possessed by her ancestor and then stabbed death by the Vampire Hunter in the party who she asked to put her down if she ever succumbed to her ancestor's power, he used his last action to take her out. At least she got to have one last smoke. 🚬

I've been feeling ravenous to create SOMETHING for ttrpg play lately. I want to write a dungeon or make a hexcrawl or just design encounters. I need to do something with this drive but I've got too many plans coming up in my life.
