A WWII fact I learned from a podcast today: A 5° difference in screw threads cost the Allies ~$100M, over $1B today, because US (60° thread) and UK (55° thread) parts weren’t interchangeable, forcing them to ship separate supplies overseas. 🇺🇸🇬🇧 The 60° standard wasn’t unified until 1949.

Gentlemen, a little spatial awareness goes a long way. Do your seatmates a favor and check your arms, legs, and feet periodically to make sure you’re not encroaching on others' space. (Spent a 3hr flight getting my foot stepped on by a guy who couldn’t stop manspreading. 😩)

First winter in Boston, no car, got in late from the airport and panic-bought fast food because everything else was closed. Realized I had to walk it home in 20° weather, so I zipped the entire meal inside my coat. Did it work? Yes. Did I immediately need to dry clean my coat? Also yes. 🍟
