What (hu)man wears a three piece tweed suit (flat cap included of course) on a flight to Edinburgh? My money is either on an American, or an English lit PhD student. The only rational explanations.

This was just posted by @tbretc.bsky.social on another platform. The Chicago Sun-Times obviously gets ChatGPT to write a ‘summer reads’ feature almost entirely made up of real authors but completely fake books. What are we coming to?

"At academic conferences, only pregnancy and recovery could explain someone not drinking." This book is utterly insane and I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say I'd recommend it, but there's some real gems.

New article out in Security Dialogue: "Exceptional (In)security: The Vernacular Turn and Chronic Crisis in Sierra Leone." This particular article, written with a fab colleague, has been quite a journey. They don't all just happen, but lovely to see it out! journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...

Me: Don't be mad. I bought/ordered a lot of books while in Chicago. Tim (my partner): Sigh. I know by now that this is a book-buying time of year ok? I’ve made my peace with it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
