Good morning - have an Andy Stott display as part of your hopefully excellent day

Based on the chatter am I correct in thinking these Andy Stott titles are due a repress?

Oh my word, this hits ‘that’ super sweet spot that early UK breakbeat did on labels such as Shut Up And Dance, Network, early XL / Warp etc back in the day. Absolutely massive 2xLP from Static Flow out on Fragment. I can’t recommend this enough

Echoes of Autechre, nods to the glitch era, traces of basic channel, fragmented yet fluid, like dialing from frequency to frequency on an old tuner catching audio glimpses of far away worlds. This is Topdown Dialectic’s False LP A.

Danish piano trio Little North has a new album out for ACT, this time they’re widening their cinematic/Nordic noir palette with the help of vibe man Joel Ross and alt sax player Hannes Bennich. Title is Crossing Currents, results are magnificent. ECM disciple? Don’t sleep etc etc

One of my all time favourite bassists, fellow Dane Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen’s Jaywalkin’ up next. Like Japan’s Mick Karn, but on double bass and playing jazz.

Looking at the cover photo you might be forgiven for thinking this could have perhaps been called The Disillusion Of Freddie Hubbard but rest assured that this date, which is in fact called The Artistry Of said Mr. Hubbard, is heaving with life affirming music from start to end

The Eclectic Corner’s October version will be about nothing but these three Pete Blaker 12s. Coming to you @madwaspradiomwr.bsky.social before you know it

Elvin Jones’ greetings for Coltrane ran a bit late for the latter’s birthday. But here it is, it starts with Dear John C.

You take one part Transmat, stir in a decent amount of Basic Channel and add a cup of R&S. That provides EP 1 from Ulf och Andreas. Serves two sets of ears but is even better when shared with others

Speaking of tearing up, Richie Rich’s Salsa House never fails to have that effect on me. The Set It Off beat always rocks no matter when and how

Ok, classic 12s - ready? Bobby Konders’ Nervous Acid has me all tearing up. That wasn’t the plan but music eh?

First album with his own music, Dutch edit specialist Pete Blaker’s Swimming Limbs will no doubt go down as one of the best electronic albums of the year, trippy, deep, hazy, lovely through and through. Massive recommendation

Freddie Hubbard’s Red.Clay opening the Sunday. Might do a classic 12” session again later

I can’t find record 2 for the moment but it’s ok, for me it was always all about the Dark Train mix of Dark & Long from Underworld.

Anyone after some Advanced Dungeon Dub? If so, Prince Istari has you covered with his brand new album called Escape From The Tombs Of The Synth Lich. According to Mr. Istari, it’s An Adventure For Level 1-3. LP comes with an elaborate magazine as well

Here’s a special one. French producer and bass player Slim Levy’s Snippet Sounds is a wonder- and playful collection of tape aesthetics, toy keyboards and digi-dub riddims mixed live on a Fostex four-track cassette recorder. Released on Jahtari, this comes warmly recommended

I know, I’m dropping Tom Carruthers records all over the place, but please indulge me this one too, Non Stop Rhythms for L.I.E.S. Packed with old school samples (currently reminiscing over Liquid Oxygen / Liz Torres / Nu Groove) this is on point

I’ll let you in on a secret weapon if the dance floor is starting to slip away - drop this and I guarantee everyone will be forgiving everything that passed before. Think Phil Collins serenading a sunrise in Ibiza - and then breathe out :)

I was so saddened by the death of Tony Scott earlier this year, the That’s How I’m Living / The Chief 12” was a staple in my bag back in the day. I’ve managed to finally dig it out again today. Better late than never I guess. RIP Chief ❤️

Into the Pharoah Sanders / Floating Points joint? The Pharoah Sanders / Bill Laswell ditto? I’m not saying this is any of those, however, what I am saying is that, if yes, you really ought to check Elori Saxl + Henry Solomon’s Seeing Is Forgetting without further delay. Superb…

You can always trust Jazzman to unearth gold, here’s an example: Rickey Kelly’s My Kind Of Music from 1979. Mr Kelly plays the vibraphone and marimbas and is joined by a stellar crew incl Billy Higgins on drums. It’s certainly my kind of music too
