PlayStation Direct ran out of Astrobots faster than Lego's site. Glad I got in on that in time. #Lego #AWOL #Astrobot #LegoSky

They're here! One is in pristine condition, and the other is mine to build. Bought directly from PlayStation Direct. They jammed them in a box at an angle and shipped them out. I wonder if those sold by Lego also have the PlayStation sticker as an additional seal? #Lego #AWOL #LegoSky #Astrobot

Finally back to Minas Tirith. Today's bag #50 was the right upper exterior of the rocky protrusion. #Lego #LegoSky #LoTR #AFOL

Woohoo, the retired Dark Falcon LEGO #75389 has arrived from backorder. Due to retiring this year and already being sold out, I'm happy to have gotten my hands on this one. IMO the best looking of the Falcon builds and hilarious minifigs. #Lego #AFOL #BrickSky

That's cool. I was curious and searched and happily found there is a set I like in the Lego Ideas voting. My favorite part pictured below. I sure hope it gets enough votes for the Lego review process.

Having some brain fog as I acclimate to a med post-knee surgery, so I'm putting Minas Tirith on hold until I can hold a thought. Until then, I'm working on smaller builds and learning stop motion. This is Lego #40822 Jack-O-Lantern Pickup Truck #Lego #LegoSeasonal #AFOL

While Minas Tirith was on hold for pieces I misplaced, I worked on some smaller sets. I had an absolute blast with them and recommend #40806, the Gingerbread AT-AT, for the joy and whimsy it brings. #Lego #StarWars #AFOL

Felt like building more last night, so I opened #Lego #75437, Cobb Vanth's Speeder. The 2nd picture is the minifigures for Cad Bane and Cobb Vanth. These are the pics from this set that are worth sharing; my stop-motion concept failed. There was an error between the keyboard and the chair.

Waiting on a few pieces from #LEGO that I likely misplaced from the #MinasTirith set. So I grabbed the Spider Tank #75361 off the shelf, and here we are. Pics of the Bo-Katan Kryze minifig in the last two pics.

And just like that, the #LEGO set #TheLordOfTheRings:MinasTirith #11377 has a completed lower section. The first 2 instruction books are done, with 1 left. to go.

Argh! Now I need a bunch more Gingies for the holiday stop motion I am working on the storyline for. With SW characters from an advent calendar and a holiday set, this gives me ideas. It helps that I had already planned and budgeted to pick up the gingerbread AT-AT with that Darth Vader this fall.

I believe the base level of Lego Minas Tirith #11377 is mostly finished. The base consists of 2 pieces. This is how they will connect.

Lego Minas Tirith #11377 has 60 bags across 3 boxes. I am at the halfway mark. It's about to get vertical quickly.

Botched panoramic photo that looks like reality is melting on a LEGO build.

I have fallen behind a bunch lately. So I quickly threw this together from my photos. Recovery is doing great, just slow and bothersome as expected. Box 1 of 3 completed in the Lego Minas Tirith #11377. I have some cool photos, just haven't stop motioned them yetl.

It is time! I am mobile enough to start doing builds in the first-floor library, which opens up a larger building space. Resulting in Minas Tirath set up commencing. Trying to get the 3d build instructions on my ipad. Most likely memory available. Worst case scenario I can always use my phone.

A few years ago, I bought a recliner. I didn't realize at the time that it wouldn't fit my doggo and me. Less cuddles. Today I'm in bed, recovering from a total knee replacement, and my girl is sleeping on me. I missed this. Life is always better when you're pinned down by a snoring fuzzy love.

Lego The X-Files #21369 Again, Legos attention to detail is top shelf. Final pic, I have build pics but I have fallen behind editing them. Going back and forth on what I can/will build next. Not sure if I’m ready to build a huge set or not. LOVE this set. Fun fact, the UFO spins.

Shipped Sunday, arrived Monday. Fastest shipping window I've had yet from Lego. I'll have to pick up Hulu to rewatch The X-Files when I assemble these two.

Here is a pic from before I had finished Lego Tuxedo Cat #21349. The tail is missing because I hadn't assembled the final bag yet. I'll throw the build pics together later on and post them. For now, here is my interpretation of the yin-yang symbol.

It is time for Her Royal Highness to be commemorated in Lego. She is 16-17 and has been showing her age more and more. It is often joked she raised my daughter. Lego Tuxedo Cat #21349 Once I have regained mobility, I'm diving into Minas Tirith and Grond. I love glancing over and seeing them here.

WOOT! A little something showed up after I got back from my TKR. I'll likely wait until I'm done with the big time pain relievers before I build this so I can enjoy it and be able to move around for pics.

Finished the Lego Star Wars TIE Bomber #75347. I started the build a day or two ago. Solid feel to the build, simple bombing mechanism that works, love the Vader minifig, and to top it off, NO STICKERS. Highly recommend if Star Wars ships are your jam.

Finished up The Starry Night, Lego #21333 For my partial colorblindness, this was difficult but worth it. I love the flow and movement. The 3D building techniques were superb. Absolutely worth the price of admission.

I am partially colorblind. Normally, no big deal. I don't use accessibility options for gaming. Unthinking, I bought this set. Bag 5 was the back wall. It was a journey. Great set, the use of 3D to capture The Starry Night in Lego is impressive. Thankfully, the all black frame is next.

A quick one bag build for Lego Duel on Mandalore #75310. The secret compartment with the gun under the throne was neat. I mostly bought it for the Darth Maul minifig since I did not have one yet.

I am a sucker for a good Lego diorama, and this one is iconic. Lego Deathstar Trash Compactor #75339. All minifigs have front and back printing on the torso. Luke and Han have printing on the front of their Stormtrooper pants. C-3PO has side printing on his arms. A great minifig set.

000

thegrumpyolddad.bsky.social @thegrumpyolddad.bsky.social · 04/07/2026

The build they selected for this set, and then changed badly, was such a cooler build.

1/2 The Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter #75325 was bigger than I expected, which is not a complaint. It was a fun build. One thing I do not understand is the way they bagged it. 3 full-size bags, with smaller bags inside of them, are labeled 1. Instead of marking bags 1-3, they chose 1, 1, 2.
