LEVITICUS, the breakout horror hit from Sundance this year, is now playing at both @siffnews.bsky.social & @thegrandcinema.bsky.social! A compelling, darkly playful resonance in ‘Exit 8’ | Review
"Exit 8," directed by Genki Kawamura, is a technically well-crafted if narratively hit-and-miss adaptation of the video game of the same name, writes our reviewer.

🎉BUCKET LIST BYLINE ALERT🎉: For @avclub.com, I wrote about the transcendent, haunting TRAIN DREAMS (which is still playing @thegrandcinema.bsky.social ) and how it cuts into the Pacific Northwest. It's got history on its mind just as it urgently speaks to the present📽️ www.avclub.com/train-dreams...
A screenshot of a piece in The A.V. Club with a headline that reads Train Dreams stakes a complex claim in the Pacific Northwest cinematic canon with the subhead A rapidly changing region fuels this Western's haunting engine with a still of a bearded William H. Macy as Arn Peeples sitting atop giant fallen trees while smoking a pipe and talking to his fellow laborers with Joel Edgerton's Robert Grainier in the corner of the foreground working silently as the world changes around all of them.

One of 2025’s best films by one of our best filmmakers, Kelly Reichardt’s THE MASTERMIND is the great art heist movie for our moment. Read my interview for @ebertvoices.bsky.social where she talks the stellar Josh O'Connor’s timeless mug then run see it at theaters like @thegrandcinema.bsky.social 📽️
A headshot of the great American filmmaker Kelly Reichardt standing in a park on a beautiful day. Text from an interview in RogerEbert.com that reads:

Q: When did Josh O’Connor then come into the picture? Because he feels like someone of this time. I know that you looked at documentaries, and it feels like he could just be a cousin in the background of one of them.

A: Yeah. I mean, the docs I looked at were shot in 16 mm, but they’re beautifully shot. The first thing with Josh was giving him an idea of a specific period in America, so he wouldn’t have a broad idea of the ‘70s. I sent him tapes of what was on the radio and then things that might be closer to his taste. Artwork that might be in the world of Dove. Some docs from the period. He started working with a voice coach. But I had him in mind for a long time when I was working on the script, so it’s lovely that it worked out. He was the only actor that I ever talked to about it, so that was fortunate. He’s got a talented face. His mug can fit into a lot of different worlds.
