Ever DNF a series bc of an ick? I loved the first one, thought the second one was interesting, but the third one? WTF. If an author ever says “girls hit their sexual maturity at 13.” In their work need their hard drives checked. Especially when they are to mate with a 70yo. #booktok #booksky #dnf

I really enjoy #LitRPG as a genre. Last year was my first foray into it with the #Cradle series by Will Wight and loved it. Now I’ve read all that’s out of Dungeon Crawler Carl #DCC and loved it so much I got a tattoo. Now I’ve started He Who Fights With Monsters and loved it. #booktok #bookreview

#HeWhoFightsWithMonsters was really fun. I’m excited to see what his magic ends up doing. I imagine the spell incantation in the voice of the zombies from call of duty when it yells “fetch me their souls!” The writing could use some work but overall fun! #booktok #booksky #bookreview

I’m 1/4 of the way into #AtlasShrugged by #AynRand and I gotta say… she’s such a pick me little bitch. Just a “oh I’m smarter than everyone in this room. Let me tell them.” But couldn’t find her way out of a paper bag if it was torn in half. God she would’ve been insufferable on Twitter.

That was weird. But good weird. LeGuinn weird. I really enjoyed it. It makes you think. I wanted more of an answer as to what the fuck is going on. But that was just my wishful thinking. Good book tho. It really delves deep into our innate humanity and what creates humans. #booksky

Eh. #TheCircusInfinite is written in a 3rd person present style and it felt like I was being told the whole story instead of shown. The MC was very frustrating. Cool abilities but overpowered. Everything the author was trying to say in the subtext was too heavy handed and felt forced. #booksky

The Secret History was surprisingly good. I was bored as hell the first 20% but after that it was excellent. Wild ride. I honestly hate all the characters. They’re all terrible people. But it was really well written and turned out to be a good book. #booksky #donnatart #thesecrethistory

I was under the impression that this was a #thriller? It’s not. It’s #literaryfiction. That’s on me tho. Or the person who recommended this to me on tiktok. It was good! It’s a time capsule of pre-covid politics on race, gender, and class. Very well written. I liked it well enough. #booksky

This was really confusing at first but was pretty good by the end. I didn’t realize #Circe was a #cat until much later in the book. Very brutal and violent and horrific. On par for her writing. This style of #dystopian #horror is hard to pull off well but I think this was successful. #booksky

I really enjoyed this. I love #sci-fi #horror that is inspired by #Alien. This was a lot of fun. I wanted more of it honestly. This needed to be much longer. A full novel would’ve suited better the story. The author is very talented. I hope to read more by them soon. #booksky

This man’s penis led him to places I wouldn’t go with a gun. I’m surprised he made it thru the AIDS epidemic tbh. While at times this book was verbose and rambled like an old man at a nursing home, I couldn’t tell you what would happen next his life was that crazy. #booksky #bookreview

I’ll take “Calling everyone you don’t like a faggot” for $500 please. This book was insanely boring. I finished it out of spite. The characters were so flat. The dialogue was a snooze fest. The plot goes nowhere. Hell there isn’t even really a plot. 0/10 don’t recommend. #booksky #bookreview

Even with the couple of dog deaths, this is probably my favorite read of 2025. It was beautifully constructed. The nested framing similar to Frankenstein was so interesting and made the story feel that much more vibrant. And that ending?Good god. I could definitely reread this many times. #booksky

That’s was… lame. That was so boring. There wasn’t any twists or turns. Everything was pretty damn predictable. Not a single thing I couldn’t see coming. The books actual structure was atrocious. It bounced around a tonne. It needed a better editor. It wasn’t an enjoyable read. #booksky #thriller

The second one is just as good as the first. Lindon is on some Rock Lee type crazy it seems. I loved it. The power scaling rivals a Shonen anime. It’s very Hunter X Hunter. I’m having a blast. It’s fun, they’re fairly short. The characters are cool as hell. The magic is cool as fuck. #booksky

#Romantasy as a genre on the whole is fraught with vapid books that put the story on the back burner. This is NOT one such case. This one has a plot. The characters are complex. The one actual sex scene was lame as hell tho. 🥱 Yawn boring hetero stuff But overall, a good #fantasy book. #booksky

Entirely underwhelming. The horror aspects were inconsistent. Is it a zombie? A poltergeist? A ghost? Who knows! The author didnt. The main dog doesn’t die but other dogs do. It’s like if The Ruins by Scott Smith and In the Tall Grass had a lame younger cousin who copies them. #booksky #bookreview

This one need more structure. It should’ve had more research and less personal anecdotes that relate to the topic. It felt very scattered and more vibes than anything tangible. I like the author, in a general sense but this book needed more time in the oven to finish cooking. #booksky

Three novellas in a trench coat pretending to be a novel. This was… weird. I’m not a fan. It had so many strange plot holes that required a lot of “suspension of belief”. Way more than you would need to for a sci-fi novel. #scifinovel #booksky 🪐💙

That was… some of the best sci-fi I have ever read. I don’t know how to feel… Why did it have to end like that 😭 that was heartbreaking! I loved it. Amazing trilogy. I will say, I think he is a little sexist. But 21st cen sexist. It’s still an amazing series. I will definitely reread. 💙📚 🪐📚

A little outdated and the author is definitely a boomer but it was good. It came out before the human genome project so it’s missing a lot of information that we now have but it was a solid book. A little repetitive sometimes and he has some biases you can see but overall I liked it. #booksky
