The corridor continued around the corner, as it had the previous corner, and the corner that had preceded that, as well as the 40 some odd corners that preceded those. The Cobblebrick floor of the castle had long since disappeared, replaced with a thin firm unfamiliar carpeting streched tight to the baseboard of the walls. The walls which now had baseboards. The walls which once lined dining rooms and bed chambers with their limestone edifice. The walls that once homed bronze sconces, great tapestries and horned gargoyles. The walls which now we're ground flat and dressed in yellowed paper. Every so often, from behind a cage of glass, strange tubes buzzed down miserably at the belagured figure that crept further into the labrynth. Foot fall echos, betraying the labrynths attempts to conceal a larger chamber.

Count Dracula glides silently forward into perhaps a storehouse. Disorganized piles of furnishing. Chairs, beds, shelves, and contraptions litter the room. Perhaps not a storehouse but a midden. The refuse leaves a clearing in the middle of the room where a disheveled man stands. The stains in the pits of his unbuttoned shirt nearly the same yellow as the walls. In one hand a leg, disembodied from a dining chair collapsed under his right foot.
