What happened: Officers were sent to the 1000 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. at 3:21 a.m. after neighbors got into a dispute. They resolved that situation, but 22-year-old Makayla Jacobson started causing another disturbance while officers were still there. When two officers moved to arrest her, she pulled a knife and stabbed both of them. The officers: Both were taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Women in Carroll County can sign up for a free two-day self-defense class this fall, but spots are limited. What's happening: The Carroll County Sheriff's Office is offering a hands-on Rape Aggression Defense class for women on November 7 and November 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. The city held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday at Grimes Bridge Park to celebrate the completion of a $4.1 million soccer field improvement project.
