Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Alaska nasturtiums springing up in the weed basket. Where there’s a will there’s a way. 🌱 0232
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Early morning live promo for Grow Yourself Inside had us filming at Orchids Ltd in Plymouth MN. My first time seeing so many in one place! These Venus Slippers are gorgeous. 🌱 070
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Empress of India. Finally blooming now that fall is here, darn. These nasturtium seedlings had a tough start, didn’t get them planted until late. Love the blue-green foliage contrasted with scarlet blooms. 🌱 1652
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I see now it’s a little blurry. Trying to hang on to my dog while taking it! 010
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 22/09/2026The little aster that could. 🌱 Blooming on the boulevard all by itself. 1300
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 20/09/2026I wish I could remember this hydrangea variety. It was a free sample from Proven Winners and somehow I lost the label. It’s a pretty one. 🌱 1523
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 19/09/2026I always feel a little smug picking my dinner in the garden. 010

Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Stuffed peppers! Two varieties, Alliance and Olly. Alliance has thicker walls and a stockier appearance. Olly is bright red with the classic bell pepper shape. Forgot to photograph before most were eaten. 🌱 Both delicious. Easy to grow. 2190
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Always looking for new varieties. I’ll give it a look. 100
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 12/09/2026I like to try new varieties. Win some, lose some. 110
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 11/09/2026The jury is still out on the Akoya tomatoes I grew this season. Pros: Front door containers, compact size, attractive foliage, unusual coloring. Cons: Not impressed with the taste. Conclusion: Combine with other tomatoes for looks? 🌱 4292
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Bumblebees on Allium ‘Lavender Bubbles’. The blooms a welcome sight in the late summer garden.Sorry about the plane noise. We are under the chosen flight path for the day. 🌱 0101
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 02/09/2026It’s always something. I have enough of best garden worlds between Minneapolis and New Orleans. Looking forward to my Meyer lemons in NOLA this winter. 010
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 01/09/2026It’s meaty for an all purpose tomato. Balanced flavor. Used by all those great New Orleans cooks. Available fresh quite a bit while we are there. 100
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 01/09/2026Trying to find something akin to the Creole Tomatoes I covet a farmers markets in New Orleans in shoulder months. I know I won’t come close, it’s about the soil and rain. Here in my MN garden I’m going with plain old ‘Celebrity’ to experiment. 🌱 Cherokee Purple still rules up north. 4230

Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 26/08/2026It was greenish last week when I first noticed it. 100
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 26/08/2026Love this example of truly vertical gardening! I’ve been watching this pumpkin mature atop a trellis in my neighborhood. 🌱 4483
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 18/08/2026Just used first time this morning. They stayed up. If my tomatoes hadn’t been damp would have been great. So my fault on that. I think they will be good plus sun protection! 110
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 18/08/2026Purchased these gardening sleeves. More and more lately tomato pollen makes my skin extremely itchy and red. Wore them this morning to pick zillions of Sun Golds. Worked well until they got wet but just minimal itching. Rinsed them out and all that yellow pollen went down the drain. 🌱 3293
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 12/08/2026Brag? Maybe. The print copy of the interview I gave to The Telegraph. As the British paper with the strongest gardening coverage I was told that was quite the accolade. And for an American gardener. I’ve read British papers ever since we lived there 30 years ago. So, yes, kind of a thrill for me. 🌱 2174
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 11/08/2026It’s a Mugo pine, a low growing variety. It’s in the rock garden at front of the yard. Just had one of the phlox from a mail order. I hope it spreads further. Looks pretty but a bit lonely out there. 🌱 120
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 10/08/2026I’m not sure. You might want to read more about them and see if would feel comfortable using them. I’ve never made soap! 010
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 10/08/2026I’m in Minnesota 4b during the summer months. A surprisingly hot and sticky place albeit with a short growing season. And New Orleans zone 9 during the winter. I usually try to note where my garden photos are located but I should probably do a better job! Thanks for asking. 🌱 150
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 07/08/2026Phlox ‘Jeana’ is very resistant to powdery mildew compared to other varieties. Butterflies love it. The bloom is more tightly clustered than common variety. I should plant more. 🌱 76510
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 29/07/2026Delizz strawberries from my Greenstalk Vertical Planter. Smaller berries but tastier than the other everbearing variety I’m growing. 🌱🍓 1200
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Yes, after all I did write that book about easier gardening as you age! 110
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 23/07/2026This looks AI but I promise it’s not! I had some holes in the garden after harvesting cabbage (mixed emotions cuz it’s so beautiful but I also want to eat it) that needed filling. I usually grow my annuals from seed but these caught my eye and couldn’t resist. Rudbeckia ‘Sarah’ 🌱 6507
Rhonda Fleming Hayes @thegardenbuzz.bsky.social · 20/07/2026Sweet Joe Pye Weed (Eutrochium purpureum) is the guy you want if your spot is too shady for regular Joe. The palest of pink to purple flowers attract bees and butterflies. And it’s tall! 🌱 This one of mine is over 6 ft. #nativeplants 3191
