At least the normal Call of Duty experience you only need to drop a map every month and a half or so and maybe a gun or a game mode. Extraction games require a lot more per update. I generally foresee the only update and the only wipe being 6 months in and then nothing ever again.

I hate the IGN rating scale. Everyone is upset that wolverine is getting 6's out of 10. 5 is supposed to be meh, function, forgettable. Wolverine is memorable because it falls apart at the seams as you go to a location with a blue tarp thinking it's something just to find out your out of bounds.

I remember thinking the Marines were stupid because Al-Asad was clearly still at his place. But the men on the ground have very little agency and do what their told. So when command tells them that very recently Al-Asad was seen near a random building. Of course they check there first.

So, after replaying MW, MWII, and MWIII I have decided to replay Cod 4, MW2, and MW3 Guys CoD 4 has some problems. Like, I too remember it being grounded and not crazy world ending Michael Bay shit The world almost ends guys. A nuke goes off, two more are fired, and like 5 more almost get launched

I agree. People used to understand not every genre needed more than 30 frames. There was a time where was okay that Call of Duty was the only game that got 60 FPS on consoles because everyone understood, yeah shooters do need more frames that makes sense. Does gta? No. 10/10.

That is what has been lost over the years. Console gamers use to understand that their boxes are in fact weaker than PCs of the same time, and also understood that not every genre needed all the frames. But the ones that did had standouts like Call of Duty which specifically aimed for 60+.

I do agree it is cool that GTA V could barely hit 30 and still got good reviews, and I believe this comes from the fact that while it's not true that people didn't care, a lot of people understood that not every genre needed as many frames as possible. GTA is very much one of those.

This is also why Call of Duty got so big at this time because it was the only game on both consoles that hit 60 frames which set it apart from other shooters where you need the frames. So in genres where it mattered people still sought out the franchise that could hit it.

You're forgetting that the PS2 could usually hit 60 FPS but everyone understood the PS3 and Xbox 360 couldn't because they were first in the HD era. They released 20 years ago and a lots of games still can't. The problem isn't that we used to not care it's that we understood it was new and let it go
