We at The Fur-Bearers are heartbroken over recent incidents involving bears in British Columbia. We recognize the growing public concern when animals are left without intervention due to government restrictions related to wildlife rescue or decisions that separate young animals from their mothers, as highlighted by recent cases in Omineca region and Hope, BC.We are contacting the relevant sources and authorities to better understand the circumstances of these cases and determine the appropriate response. We will continue to advocate for wildlife, seek greater transparency around wildlife management decisions, and share more information as it becomes available.

Animal Justice is calling for an investigation into Nell’s killing after an eyewitness reported seeing her slowly bleeding to death from a gunshot wound. While our laws allow conservation officers to kill bears, it’s criminal animal cruelty to cause prolonged pain & suffering to animals! 💔🐻
Two bears are shown in a natural setting. A red banner across the top reads, "Animal Justice Calls for Investigation Into Nell the Bear's Killing." Below, text states, "Eyewitnesses say she was left to suffer, bleeding by the side of the road" with a broken heart emoji.
