I have a lot of complicated feelings on directly correlating any kind of monster race to IRL Indigenous peoples, and while I can logically understand why people will call the recent plot revelations racist, antiblack, or anti-native, it still emotionally rolls my gut a little bit.

I liked the conclusion of the narrative. Characters felt like they had satisfying arcs and were multi-dimensional, Malacrass as an antagonist was believable, had personality, and had motivation, and overall I think pretty minor pivots was all this story needed to be one of the all-time greats.

Just finished the campaign now that I’ve had the chance to, and honestly I think it’s a solid 7/10. My number 1 complaint is I wish the Children of Ula’tek weren’t such a one-dimensional antagonist made up of a bunch of soulless goons, but the Soulcoiler Cult stuff is really neat

To be extremely uncharitable about 'the discourse,' EU RPers need to realize that the majority of NA RPers don't like the roleplay we see in Stormwind either, we just learn to ignore it rather than post think pieces to social media about the objective superiority or inferiority of server culture.

Update: there's another quest about the hologem! Ymera reveals that it has information on previous draenei colonies, so we're bringing it to Tul'amar from Voidstorm with news that her people are in danger. This is SO clearly setting up a draenei patch on Nashabor in the future.

The hardest pill to swallow is that WoW's story is on the whole actually like 6/10 mediocre to okay. We can bemoan the upcoming 'twist' but the reason everyone's still playing is there's interesting potential that they usually squander by picking safe, predictable, just fine options, not awful ones.

I hate when Blizzard rewrites the narrative on the fly to respond to criticism because it tends to feel wishy-washy and unconfident, a LOT of Dragonflight’s decisions from Wrathion to Ysera to Malfurion feel this way. I’d rather have a bad expansion that was telling the story that it meant to (1/2)
