Amara’s eyebrows drew in as she turned to follow Leila’s gaze. The far wall of the dungeon held what she’d taken for an open cupboard; a large space set into the wall, with sets of restraints hanging by chains just beneath it. As she looked it over, she realized that rather than having doors opening on the sides, there were slots above and below the compartment, with an adjustable opening that could be inflated.

“Oh,” she said thoughtfully, tapping her lip. “The glory wall’s unlocked.”

“The glory wall’s unlocked,” Leila agreed, taking a step towards it and looking back at their pledges. “And we’re out of girls to put in it.”

Amara’s mind raced as she turned to look at Leila. She cocked one eyebrow. “If every device isn’t prepared, President Wingate’s going to punish us.”

Leila nodded, looking Amara up and down thoughtfully. “She’ll really make an example of us,” she agreed. “And I don’t think we have time to source a volunteer. The party starts in fifteen minutes.”
