I have a bad cold right now, which on the bright side meant I had enough free time to actually watch the full slate of programming this week. However, it also means my brain's not operating at full capacity, so this will be a fairly short recap given how much I watched.

Another full week of the schedule that aligned with a busy week personally, so I only managed to catch three of the dramas and four sitcoms.

The WB dramas are back this week, and that means that the schedule has expanded enough now that unless I have a particularly free week or a large chunk of the schedule is in reruns, I'm probably going to miss a fair bit of programming going forward.

We're fully into the swing of the fall sitcoms now, with strong outings from The Steve Harvey Show, Moesha, and Sister, Sister, but the standout this week is definitely Voyager.

I had a fairly busy week and didn't have time to get through the whole schedule, so I focused mainly on the season premieres and then spent the rest of my time on the shows I actually like.

While WB dramas 7th Heaven and Savannah won't be back for another few weeks, this week sees the return of The Sentinel and Voyager for UPN alongside [1] Sister, Sister and The Wayans Bros. for the WB.

It's perhaps the busiest week of the project so far, with ten new sitcom and two new drama episodes, most for entirely new shows, with The Steve Harvey Show and 7th Heaven the standouts.

For the last week before the fall season truly starts, we get another new-to-the-WB Brotherly Love and two new-to-UPN In the House reruns. I liked this Brotherly Love a lot more than the pilot, but was mixed on the two In the House episodes.

It's still a few weeks until the fall season starts up in earnest, but both networks return with at least some new content this week: the WB airs the pilot of NBC cast-off Brotherly Love, while UPN airs a one-off game show structured around a male beauty pageant.

Continuing from where we left off last week, this week I'll cover the shows from last season that will be continuing this fall.

There's two more weeks until the fall season starts, so it's time for a recap of the 10 shows that won't be continuing in the fall.

I meant to finish up my end-of-season recap posts before going on vacation, but I ran out of time. Since there are still three empty weeks before the first fall shows start, I decided to just push everything back a week. Next week will cover shows that won't continue in the fall while the following week will cover shows that will.

This week brings the final two episodes of the 96-97 season, with The Sentinel's season finale and Swift Justice's series finale.

The only thing airing this week is a Swift Justice I'm missing the recording for, so I'll take this week to finish up the second half of the Nowhere Man DVD bonus features.

The mostly empty summer schedule continues with the penultimate recorded episode of Swift Justice.

Another very short week, with just a single episode of Freakazoid!.

This week brings a great episode of The Sentinel that I missed the first time around due to a corrupted video file, as well as an episode of Kids' WB Freakazoid! that I actually thought was pretty solid.

With nothing new to watch this week, I decided to dig into the DVD bonus features for Nowhere Man. The rerun that aired this week is episode 13, "Contact", and since it's the halfway point of the show, I decided to stop there and watch the rest of the bonus features sometime later this summer.

Last week we got a new-to-UPN Halloween Minor Adjustments, and this week we get an entirely new Christmas Minor Adjustments. Unfortunately, it's also the final episode aired.

Everything's in reruns this week, but the Minor Adjustments rerun is new to UPN, so we get a decent but not fantastic Halloween episode five months early.

This week brings the series finale of Nowhere Man, and while I'm not quite sure how I feel about the finale specifically, I can now definitively place the show as a whole on the top of my list of shows I've watched so far for this project.

Five of the WB's sitcoms finish their seasons this week, with strong episodes from Kirk, Sister, Sister, and The Parent 'Hood and less strong episodes from Pinky and the Brain and The Wayans Bros.

In addition to an infamous Voyager episode and another strong Nowhere Man as it continues its final stretch of episodes, this week also sees actors from each of the WB Wednesday sitcoms crossing over to other shows.

It's a busy month for May sweeps, as most of this year's shows wrap up their seasons (or series in the case of Nowhere Man). The month starts out nicely, with strong episodes from all four dramas and decent outings from the sitcoms as well.

It's the last quiet week before May sweeps, and aside from a strong but sad Moesha, it largely disappoints. Even Minor Adjustments, which has generally been the strongest of the spring replacements, wasn't quite at its usual level.

This week, all we've got is one drama and one sitcom. Luckily, it's the strongest drama (Nowhere Man) and the strongest sitcom (Minor Adjustments) in the current lineup.

Sorry for the late post this week. The server's build process broke and I didn't notice until the evening.

It's a very light week, but a good one. Swift Justice remains the weak link, but I did like this week's episode better than its previous two outings.

Another lighter week with the WB sitcoms in reruns. We get strong episodes from Savannah and The Sentinel, and weaker episodes from everything else.

The sitcoms are all in reruns this week, but we get four great new drama episodes (including new show The Sentinel) and one of the reruns is a new-to-UPN Minor Adjustments that originally aired on NBC. There's also another episode of that paranormal show with Jonathan Frakes.

While UPN technically started airing on Wednesdays last week and the WB aired a one-off Savannah rerun on Tuesday several week back, this Wednesday marks the first time both networks faced each other with new programming [1].

UPN officially expands to Wednesdays this week, putting the two networks in direct competition going forward. However, UPN aired an awards show I can't find a recording of and the WB aired reruns, so the proper competition will have to wait for next week.

Since 1996 was a leap year, we've now shifted these recap posts onto Saturdays thirty-years-ago while remaining on Mondays here in the present. Going forward, I plan to keep the Saturday alignment, which means recaps will shift between present-day Mondays and Tuesdays every even year starting in 1998.

The sitcoms were a bit of a mixed bag this week [1], but all three dramas were great!

This week, we get an excellent Voyager episode, a great Savannah, and a more middling Nowhere Man as long as a slate of Valentine's Day sitcom episodes.

It's the busiest week of the year so far with new episodes from all of the currently running shows, including particularly strong outings from Savannah, Nowhere Man, and Minor Adjustments.

Sorry for the late post this week. I accidentally had it set to post tomorrow initially.

Normally, I wait until Monday to recap all of the previous week's WB and UPN programming. However, today is a special day. Today is the 30th anniversary of UPN airing a Voyager episode in which Tom Paris turns himself and Captain Janeway into lizards and they have lizard babies.

After a year of only half-hour comedies, the WB makes its first attempt at drama this week with the primetime soap Savannah. Similarly, after a drama-only fall schedule, UPN takes a another stab at comedy with new show Moesha and NBC reject Minor Adjustments.

UPN ramps back up this week with strong episodes from both Voyager and Nowhere Man and a bland TV movie to fill space until its spring replacements start next week.

This week, we get the last Deadly Games to air on UPN, as well as an additional episode that never aired due to a cliffhanger ending. The WB sitcoms are also back from their winter break.

As 2025 turns into 2026 here in the present, the WB and UPN turn from 1995 to 1996 with a Sister, Sister rerun and the penultimate episode of Deadly Games.

For the last full week of the year, all we have is one replacement-level new-to-the-WB Sister, Sister rerun, as The WB just aired reruns and UPN burned off a few failed pilots that I'm unable to find recordings for.

For our last week of the year with fully new episodes [1], we get solid Christmas specials from Simon and The Wayans Bros., a somewhat disappointing Christmas special from The Parent 'Hood, and an Unhappily Ever After about a fake car theft where Christmas is limited purely to set decoration.

Aside from our usual Sister, Sister rerun, we get a trio of Christmas episodes from the WB this week, and while two of them are duds, the third is by far the best Pinky and the Brain I've seen so far.

Just a single Sister, Sister rerun this week, as the WB is taking the week off and UPN is off until the new year. Luckily, it's a good one!

Apologies for the short post this week. While I watched everything, with Thanksgiving I didn't have much time to write things up, so I focused on the two standouts: an excellent mid-season finale for Nowhere Man, and a final Live Shot episode with multiple cliffhangers that will unfortunately never be resolved.

Three different holidays are represented by this week's episodes, and only Sister, Sister's lines up with the actual time it aired, with Live Shot and Deadly Games representing Christmas and New Year's Eve respectively.

Most shows remain at their average this week, though Live Shot is great (despite atrocious recording quality) and Unhappily Ever After is surprisingly good.

This week was our first full schedule in a bit, and while no show has its strongest outing here, everything is at least fine.
