With the assumption the hook failed, Smolder would weave backward and attempt a kick to the lower abdomen to create distance. He didn't know what type of speed that Scourge was working with, so he was playing his cards safe- creating plans upon plans to try and avoid being speedblitzed.

In reality, he was trailing close behind the rocks- he swerved to the right to deliver a nasty strike to the other's ribs, followed by a step back into a full force punch to the stomach. All of his strikes had such immense power backed behind them with such little movement of the body. How..?
