Hahaha possibly the show's best scene right there

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

This is some of the hardest I’ve laughed at an anime before, especially in the English dub. It’s absolutely unhinged. It’s also super short, thankfully. I watched this as a teen and finishing it today, its easy to see what has and hasn’t aged well. 8.25/10

[REVIEW] Golden Boy Firstly, this show is super problematic. Its depiction of women is gross, and the insane horniness can (no pun intended) be a major turn-off. It’s also this absurd, over-the-top nature that makes it so funny.

What is going on with comics? Is that Miles Morales × The Muppets and a Ghost Rider Mechagodzilla?

000

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Anything negative I can say applies to EVERY tokusatsu series: It’s just too long. If and when Sentai comes back, they should do it like an anime. 13 or 26 episode seasons, the weekly schedule isn’t doing anyone any favors. 9.25/10

000

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

It features a great story, the most endearing, magnetic team of them all (my life for Kotoha), and the action and effects are incredible considering their age. There’s not a single bad episode.

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

[REVIEW] Samurai Sentai Shinkenger I didn’t want to admit this, but it’s time. Gokaiger is now my 2nd favorite Sentai. This one’s the new king. Or daimyo.

100

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

But the gameplay is tight, cinematic and engaging, even if the story is the opposite. 7.25/10

000

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

The worst things about this game are all the things that tether it to the era it released in. We’re talking all chest-high walls, and every dude is buff and gruff, takin’ a tough cigarette puff like he can’t get enough.

100

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

[REVIEW] Vanquish This is the worst Platinum game I’ve ever played! Clickbait aside, I say that because there technically has to be one. This is Platinum after all (my favorite developers ever) so it’s still a good time.

I’m also just not a fan of the awkward CGI cartoons. The movie itself is enjoyable though, aside from some unnecessary plot bloat. 7/10

000

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

The premise (Coyote is suing ACME for their malfunctioning products) is genius, and the story of “little guy goes up against massive corporation” feeding into the meta backstory of this movie seeing the light of day is the most interesting part about it.

100

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

[REVIEW] Coyote vs ACME Coyote and Road Runner have always been my favorite Looney Tunes cartoons, and I honestly don’t know if that helped or hurt me here.

100

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

But this being his last role, the heavy-handed messaging basically blaming Optimus for fighting against evil and oppression feels like a betrayal of his character. But maybe I’m missing something. Maybe there’s more than meets the eye? 6.5/10

001

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

Don’t get me wrong, the animation is stellar, and it’s a love letter to 40 years of this franchise, including a tear-jerky sendoff to the late legend Peter Cullen.

100

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

[REVIEW] Optimus Prime: Awakening Optimus Prime has always inspired me to see the good in all things, and I’m really trying to do that here.

000

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

However, the plot that matters REALLY matters, and the animation and music continue to be top-tier. It’s easily the weakest season so far but still worth it. 7.25/10

000

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

You're not sure who or what is supposed to be important as it introduces a bunch of random new filler characters and plotlines that are too self-contained to really feel like they matter.

100

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

[REVIEW] Jujutsu Kaisen S3 If this series is a videogame then this season feels like speedrunning the DLC just before finishing the main quest.

100

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

And it rules. This movie is hilarifying. The humor? Those practical effects? Honestly, include it in the “best video game adaptation ever” conversation. 8.5/10

000

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

This adaptation abandons all but the most basic aspects of Resident Evil lore in favor of lovingly recreating the experience of PLAYING Resident Evil The Videogame™.

100

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

[REVIEW] Resident Evil (2026) Zach Cregger of WKUK (IYKYK) is on the Jordan Peele trajectory of pivoting from sketch comedy to making incredible horror movies.

100

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

So I got to act on stage for the first time since middle school. We shared lifetimes of stories, we laughed, we cried, and honestly, this is what live theatre should be like. 8.75/10

000

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

[REVIEW] Blank What if you played Mad Libs in therapy? I attended Prima Theatre’s production of Blank, an experimental work by Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour where the actors (shoutouts to Jon Foley Sherman here) have never read the script, and the characters are people from the audience!

100

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

That said, this is easily Tom Holland’s best performance, and it’s cool to see how this Spidey has evolved visually and verbally after spending time with Tobey and Andrew. So many thwips and quips. 7.5/10

000

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Unfortunately, alot of the film’s agency is lost when you realize it’s just another “setting up the next thing” movie.

[REVIEW] Spider-Man: Brand New Day The MCU is starting to look like the Marvel we know from the comics as the Disney, Sony, Netflix, and Fox characters are finally legally allowed to all interact.

I’d like to see more practical effects for the dinosaurs, though it’s cool to see how our understanding of these creatures since the days of Jurassic Park has changed (they have feathers now!). Overall it’s a fun, nostalgic time despite its flaws. 7.25/10

[REVIEW] The End of Oak Street Not since a certain rubber-suited sitcom from the 90s has dinosaurs in suburbia been so entertaining. And I can’t even tell you the last time an on-screen family has had more chemistry and believability.

It's almost spooky season again, and just like last year, I have a (maybe too ambitious) goal of experiencing 31 horror (& horror-adjacent) media. UNLIKE last year, I'm probably gonna get a headstart in September, especially for the video games. Bringing me to my next announcement:

Overall, it’s a good take on Halo 1, but leaves little itches everywhere that just can’t be scratched. The cutscenes are incredible though. Give us a CGI Halo feature film.

The EXP. Point @theexppoint.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

[REVIEW] Halo: Campaign Evolved This is a game of “almosts”. It ALMOST feels like playing the original. The graphical QUALITY is maybe the best-looking game ever, but the art DIRECTION is only almost there. It ALMOST completely gets the lore.
