Time to make writing a priority! Against all the suck in the world, against AI, you need to bring your characters and worlds to life.

I'm ever so slightly biased but GYWO is one of the best writing communities I've been part of. The people it attracts are so amazing and kind and it's exactly the kind of supportive place writers need.

I really appreciate all the support, everyone. 💙

Year-End Marathon is an awesome way to get a taste of what GYWO is all about without committing to a full year. Come join us for a writing boost at the end of this year!

I have not felt up to novel writing, so I'm accepting some Stucky prompts for fun. If you want a structure, I always like location + word.

The number of people pledged this year has my brain boggling. Y'all got a lot of friends.

Hey! Also, it's true. (Also, this is me calling myself out; I just think it's funny to pretend otherwise.)

Did you know I am bad at managing multiple social media accounts?

By "today" of course I mean "when I wake up in the morning and close the form." My insomnia may work to your advantage, late arrivals!

*whispers* people are still signing up, I'm going to cry. 🥺😭

This is my favorite promo because the 🧂 for seasoned writers makes me laugh every time.

You all have no idea how much it warms my heart when people speak positively of the GYWO trackers. 🥰

Up until nearly 2am working on @gywo.bsky.social. Awake at 7:30 because my cat loves me. Very few regrets! 💙

If you're a writer looking for a community, I must say we've built a fine one right here. It's accountability with compassion, and every year our members amaze me.

If anyone wants to get me a last minute Christmas gift, find 50 writers to pledge for GYWO before I check pledges again on Dec 26.

I feel like this is one of the ads that really captures the feeling of GYWO.

Every year I am surprised by opening @gywo.bsky.social pledge numbers, and every year I look back and find that this avalanche is normal. 😂

If you see this, you have to share an image from your phone without explaining it

You all really do not know how much joy I get from the @gywo.bsky.social community and watching people join/find us. 10 days from now starts both the most stressful time and most joyous as our 2024 pledging opens.

Hello, friends! How are you doing today?

020

Em (Emerson Phyllis McGee) @theemdash.bsky.social · 20/10/2023

I write most original fiction in 3rd person limited past tense. A lot of my recent fanfic is 3rd person limited present tense. I love 3rd person limited. 💙

If you're a fandom person. OMG, find me!

It is only appropriate to point out: today is Daniel Jackson's birthday.

Also, please help me find people to follow. I feel like I've wandered into a dark room blindfolded and I do not want to accidentally poke any body parts.

Guess it's time to set up the ol' fandom account on the new short-post-into-the-void social media app. Follow for unhinged (and sometimes hinged) Marvel, Stargate, and whatever other fandoms I fall into a pothole over.
