I used to be a scout tho and bless the swiss this army knife had some tools with the correct thickness for the machine!

JS @theeldritchjs.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

it was a struggle to get that bolt out, all my modern screwdriver were too thick. if the typewriter database is correct my machine is from 1927 or 1928!

spend the night tinkering to get my typewriter platen off to be rerubbered since as you can see that platen is petrified and broken. I was really anxious to mess with it but with that platen i didn't want to destroy it. #typewriter #diy #remingtonportable #

I was blocking out some 3d environment for a nora comm then I wanted to try drawing it by like using my tablet as a lightbox and sketch over it which yeah kinda tracing but since I made all the 3D assets myself there's worse shit one could be doing and maaaaaan perspective sucks xD

now this might've been the toughest part, I was a scout but I'm not that great in ties and knots, never have been due to the hand eye coordination disability thing. Really wanted the ending to be a loop though. I may do some arch engravings idk. But I'm really glad I dyed it, looks better this way.

010

JS @theeldritchjs.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

So what else can you do then start dyeing the fabric yourself! I used rooibos tea, salt and white vinegar and just let it soak for 2 hours, afterwards I rinsed it until it wasn't emitting color in the rinse water. never dyed anything before, but me old ma studied fashion so why not try?

So I started shaping it, I wanted some thing wrapped around it for grip and first I tried leather but it was glued on and imo looked cheap. But the white tie I felt was way too sterile white for a witchcraft tool...

more work was done so the stone could hold the textile better

so the project started by that new friend having her birthday and she wanted 'something witchy' so I got inspired by a soapstone I had lying around and the like White Sign Soapstone from dark souls and the pigment stone from witch hat atelier. Wanted to make a tool so she could draw her own cycle.
