No, no, no… this will be the year youth turnout surges Dems into office.

Love it. Game on the line, go for it.

If the 2020 Democratic Primary didn’t demonstrate the folly of counting on the youth vote, I’m not sure anything will.

My father, a college professor for 25 years before he passed, long lamented the performative insanity of college administrations. While this article focused on woke, his bane was worthless degrees and 'selling education' to kids. Academia has had a reckoning coming for decades...

If this were true, progressives would be racking up victories in contested districts/states. I have yet to see that happen.

Tom’s point is simple: don’t give voters any reason to shy away from Democrats. You and I agree that Republicans are horrendous, but moderate voters will always be more squishy towards liberals.

I agree, campaigning on what he is ACTUALLY doing in office would have been a bad thing. That's why he didn't do that.

Democrats frustrated with poll showing voters see Trump as more moderate
Democrats are voicing frustrations at polling that shows more voters see former President Trump as the moderate candidate in the presidential race against Vice President Harris.  Democrats for…

The most politically engaged liberals have trouble accepting that Trump was viewed as a moderate/normie by a non-insignificant swath of voters.

I don't live in Michigan, and I'll happily vote for anyone against the Republican Party. I can't say the same for my family, unfortunately.

Yeah, reactions like this remind me of Bernie after Nevada... And they wonder why moderates won't turn out for them? Maybe stop threatening them?

My friend would say "I would rather it get worse so the bottom falls out and we get to rise from the ashes." He calls it the phoenix theory. It's quite exhausting.

Democrats are a hair away from saying "The voters of Maine have spoken, and it's our obligation to support him." Amoral? probably. Politically right? also probably.

As someone who has been in the Army since 2007, I think this is a bit backwards; the military is a reflection of political will and social values. The rot that is currently happening is a direct result of elected officials.

One day, I hope we liberals fold race into into a broader argument about class instead of the status quo. The politics is exponentially better. Who knows, maybe it'll resonate in WV.

It was a great article that sums up the pain my fellow service members felt during GWOT. Every single one of our tactical victories was squandered because there was no political plan afterwards.

Since the start of Donald Trump’s second term, Republicans have deployed ever more Nazi imagery and rhetoric, and espoused ideas associated with the Nazi Party, @radiofreetom.bsky.social argues. He examines how this dark fringe reached the center of the GOP:

Call Them What They Are
The Republican Party has become a haven for Nazi sympathizers.

I know too many people who have radicalized themselves over the years. Used to get angry at right wing media, but these people have willfully surrendered their grasp on reality.

I like Matt, but he can't seem to seem to move from his initial position on the current immigration debate. Republicans have admittedly squandered their strongest issue, yet he still believes Dems should ignore it.

One day Democrats might reckon with the fact that abandoning local elections/politics has been their mistake in all this mess.

Listen to how the younger generation of sports journos talk about Tony Kornheiser. He's a fantastic mentor and worked his ass off to help others get opportunities.

I was stationed in upstate NY, and everyone needed a 4x4 because of the snow. Sigh.... I saw more SUVs and trucks stuck than anyone else. Tires are most important.

I've been AD Army for two decades. I could regale you with stories for days about financial illiteracy. Food and vehicles send more people into financial despair than anything else. And it's self-inflicted.

Still hard for me to fathom how politically illiterate Dems became post-Obama. Maybe it's fair to say it began during his second term. Bernie was a flawed candidate, but he saw the writing on the wall.

Honest question, purity mattered to Republicans in the Obama era, do you think it’ll come back post Trump? I’m not so sure.

The Dude @thedude07.bsky.social · 03/01/2026
Interesting. And I think the current Republican Party loves the narrative of “I used to be a Democrat but….” Principled purity seems passé, these days.

Trump portraying himself as the "everything to everyone" candidate took a lot of 'elite' support. But at this point, her wagon is hitched to Trump. I would be shocked if she made some principled stand. She is politically homeless without Trump.

Social media sucks for discussions. Conversations just get high jacked by low effort responses.
