I discovered a #Nishimi drawing, forgotten on the copy machine, after he'd wrapped work on #Mindgame (directed by childhood pal Yuasa). We'd just begun our search for an artist to render Taiyo's characters as anime, and there he was, right under our noses. #Tekkon #鉄コン #AmerBeton #松本大洋 #西見 #anime

The first page of character sketches Nishimi did, still searching for our TEKKONKINKREET look. When I saw this page of Kuro sketches, I knew our search for a character designer was over.

The second page of character sketches Nishimi did—this time focussing on Shiro.

The third page of character sketches Nishimi did, including early Suzuki and Snake

The fourth page of character sketches Nishimi did, including Kimura, Suzuki, Fujimura, the Minotaur, and a more refined Snake.
