Minnesota has a very lovely system for tracking your absentee ballots. I just checked, and Mrs. Fish's and my ballots were accepted by the state and "will be counted." I did my bit, now everybody else needs to do theirs.

So, we're coming up on the release of the next #Overwatch season, and I have to say that I did not see Sombra support coming. This is not a thing they do lightly; only two other heroes have changed roles in the past 10 years (Doomfist DPS to tank, Symmetra support to DPS).

Last night was something special. I'd never seen so many people in #Destiny2 before. Folks dancing, chatting, celebrating everywhere. We achieved the impossible; the guardians made their own fate. We'll see what the future holds, but at least there is a future now. Let's keep it going.

There was a bit of controversy on the release of D.Mon in #Overwatch that I wanted to (belatedly) address. See, the thing is, she was definitely undertuned at launch, and a lot of people are complaining about the fact that Blizzard had to buff her out of the gate.

When I’m not playing games or posting pictures of cats, this is one of my other hobbies.

The #Overwatch Quick Play Hacked game modes this season should serve as a reminder to people that making 6v6 work isn't as simple as just turning off the 5v5 game mode. There are multiple reasons Blizzard went to 5v5, balance chief among them, though queue times were also a factor.

It's been a hot minute since I've talked #Overwatch, but something occurred to me recently, with the new heroes. Blizzard is really cooking on their hero balance. They've now brought in 6 brand-new heroes with no preview weekend, and only minor balancing tweaks - if any at all.

Follow-up to yesterday’s mini: He was a dress rehearsal for Vecna, the Whispered One, the BBEG of my current campaign, whom they fight on Sunday.

So I finally got a chance to get hands-on with the new #Overwatch hero, Sierra. Now granted, it was me backfilling into a losing effort, which isn't going to be the greatest experience, but she was nice. I need more practice with her mobility on the drone, but she fits well in my wheelhouse.

It's Transgender Day of Visibility, and I find myself compelled to speak up. Not because I am trans; quite the opposite, in fact. I have to speak because I am a cis-het white male, and while it shouldn't be this way, my voice carries weight with the people who want to erase transgender people.

The #Overwatch Conquest event has concluded, and I have to say, five weeks in, I am loving this. The game is still as entertaining to play as it was on the season's launch day. I think I have more play time this season than any season since the original Season 1 of the new Overwatch.

I did my #Overwatch support placements over the last week. I ended in Gold 1, one win shy of being in platinum. Considering how my last round of games went, I would consider myself a plat-level player, even if I have not officially obtained that rank yet. (I had three leavers in a single game.)

So, it seems like #Destiny2 is cooked. The upcoming Shadows and Order update was scheduled to release the same week as Bungie's new extraction shooter, Marathon. (Which is its own ball of WTF, but I'm not going to get into that.) They've delayed it, as expected, but that raises its own problems.

Alright, I've given all the new #Overwatch characters a fair shake. They're all fun. I need a little more practice being aggressive on Mizuki; I severely underestimated his flanking capability. Otherwise, I feel I've done okay playing all of them. The game is so fun right now.

It's #Overwatch Season 1 day! The game I love has five new heroes, a reworked UI, new story-related challenges, and is ringing in its 10-year anniversary in style. The servers are fucked, but as much as it makes it annoying to play, it means lots of people are playing the game, which makes me happy.
