Haven’t been on here in a while. Life is rough right now. Still unemployed and very discouraged about finding a job. Dad’s health is alarming. I can’t seem to motivate myself to be healthier, I’m ridiculously anxious about having to finish a class (final paper/final exam) by the end of the month.

No means no. Hard stop. (CNC play is different, but people who are into that [should hopefully] know to talk about and negotiate what they need to ahead of time.)

I can’t really talk about this or post this anywhere, but I took my friend to get a rape kit done yesterday and held her hand through the exam. I’ve been doing this volunteer work for almost 20 years, but I never get less angry. NO ONE has ANY right whatsoever to ANYONE’S bodily autonomy.

So yeah, if anyone knows of any jobs in Victoria, BC or remote in the US/Canada where someone can live in Victoria in training/learning and development, etc. with a minimum salary of $95k CAD (preferably more, and preferably USD), I’d be eternally grateful.

Really long story short, but I’ve been on leave without pay since June 8th. I requested accommodations for my ADHD, which backfired… badly. My employer decided that because of my disability, I’m not able to do the job I’ve been doing for over a year and a half.

Dad was in the ICU for about a week, then went to a rehab facility for about another week. They thought maybe his blood sugar crashed, and he fell. On Friday, he called a cab because he was having a hard time breathing at home, so he went to the hospital for a breathing treatment.

I’m probably not even going to finish my pre-requisite course, and I have 2 more to do, so I guess I’m just never going back to school for a masters in counseling, even though it’s been what I’ve always wanted to do. I’m so frustrated with myself. 😭

Work is shit, I’m stressed about my dad and his health and how we’re gonna pay his hospital and rehab bills, I feel super guilty about not being home to help with things/being so far away, therapy has been super hard, even my marriage is struggling lately, and we’re always rock solid. I hate this.

I had the most useless follow up appointment with a psychiatrist. Told him I’m struggling, meds aren’t working, I can’t regulate my emotions, I’m in a deep, long depressive episode, and I’m having panic attacks that make me cry, hyperventilate, and vomit almost daily.

I get beyond ragey when Canadians (or other non-Americans) try to come at Americans for being “financially illiterate” or whatnot. Like, I’m so happy for you that you don’t have to pay for healthcare, your child care and education is affordable, and your elder care is guaranteed and subsidized.
