The Democratic Party is a joke. We need a true working class party in this country now more than ever.

I wonder what it’s like to be a Dodgers fan, or even a Yankees fan. It’s gotta require the easiest level of commitment ever. #baseball #wildcard #reds

Always remember when people are told to tighten their belts or go without pay, the people telling you to do so will still get theirs. See also: healthcare, pensions, etc.

I’m sure Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, both of whom strongly believe in Federalism, are appalled by Trump ordering troops to take over states. Right? ……….Right?

A whistleblower's disclosure details how DOGE may have taken sensitive labor data
A whistleblower tells Congress and NPR that DOGE may have taken sensitive labor data and hid its tracks. "None of that ... information should ever leave the agency," said a former NLRB official.

The Democratic Party (and their cronies/candidates) text me pretty much every day. I text them stop and the next day I get a text from a new number. I wonder if they realize just how much this bullshit makes people despise them even more.

Matt Clark @thecryptrocket.bsky.social · 26/03/2025
If the FMCS is shut down, and the agency was created under the Taft-Hartley Act, then shouldn’t Taft-Hartley be repealed? Along with it goes “right to work” and ULPs against unions, keep in mind. #FMCS #union

Hearing the Trump admin is currently gutting the FMCS, laying off mediators and shutting down services. The FMCS was created as a means to thwart strikes. Unions should respond accordingly. #strike

Yeah, I don’t think that’s true. Dems lost young men because they offered them nothing. Take a look at rust belt areas, for starters, where union halls once offered cultural/social identity to young people. The halls are gone, replaced by gun clubs and churches. Crypto fantasies won’t fix that.

If your reaction to current events is “how can we fix this political party?” and not “let’s do something else” you’re still not getting it. This two party system doesn’t work. It’s right there in front of you.

One of my sources is a paper from 2019 which states only about 6 percent of American workers employed by private employers have paid leave. Do you know the percentage of union represented workers in the private sector in the US? You guessed it, about 6 percent.

There is a semantics argument that happens in these types of discussions on social media which are pointless and distract from the core issues.

Totally agree. There are “Varieties of Capitalism” as the saying goes, and the application of these ideologies varies widely among different nations, even if many of the theories derive from the same place. I think any time ideologies are discussed, you’ll have confusion because they’re just ideas.

Coordinated economy which relies on heavy regulation (see: Germany, Japan, Scandinavian nations, etc). Neoliberal thought has extended beyond economics though, and it affects other areas of domestic and foreign policy, as well. Sorry for the insanely long reply, but I hope it helps!

people see “liberal” in the word “neoliberalism” and assume the latter is somehow a left ideology, but it is actually the opposite (albeit it is sadly embraced by much of the American center-left). The “liberal” in the term refers to a liberal economy, meaning less regulation as opposed to a

As a result, trade agreements which help business but hurt workers (globally) emerged, austerity measures removed government assistance programs, unions were disparaged and membership plummeted, and income inequality once again took hold. Neoliberalism only benefits one group: the very wealthy. Many

economics in the late ‘70s, touting the benefits of the “invisible hand of the market” as opposed to strict regulations (see Milton Friedman, etc). Governments bought into these theories as they are, themselves, predominantly run by a wealthy ruling class (see Reagan in the US, Thatcher in the UK).

Class income and quality of life improved, as the wealthiest paid their share of taxes, union membership soared, and industry boomed. But, as you can imagine, those wealthy folks were not too fond of this train of thought. And as a result, neoliberal thought emerged to promote “laissez faire”
