It's almost June! Time to do what all the businesses do and performatively change my profile images for #PrideMonth2025. Oh. Wait. When DID I change my profile images to rainbow themes again? Was it last year or 2023? 🤔 #lgbtqbusinessowner🌈

NGL, I'm building a new PC for myself and while I'm also very happy about the spiffy specs, the pretty lights also make me very happy. I've had a lovely blue LED-lit PC for several years now, but the case is solid so the effect was limited. The new case has clear panels 🤩

What am I doing in the "off season"? Well, I have a few commission orders to make, some Christmas gifts to make, a little D&D to play, and also took Booth Cat Mercury out to Petsmart so he could watch the exotic birds channel on Cat TV.

And at that craft fair is when I got the COVID infection that wrecked my brain, leaving me a neurological mess for nearly all of 2024. Anywho, I got my COVID *and* flu boosters this year BEFORE my indoor craft fairs started for the season. Get vaccinated, y'all. See you Saturday.

The Crafty Kat @thecraftykat.com · 22/11/2024

I forgot to get my COVID booster last year. I meant to get it before Thanksgiving, but one thing led to another, and I still hadn't managed to get it by the time my last craft fair rolled around in early December.

Long time no post, Bluesky! I promise I'm still around... it's just that Threads was more active, so I was over there more. Have some Mercury the Booth Cat pictures in apology!

Sometimes my studio assistants are a little TOO MUCH assistance...

After 3 straight weeks of craft fairs, I have 3 weeks off until the next! Hoping to get some favorites restocked and some new items made before the Kentucky Moonshine Festival on June 15th at Boundary Oak Distillery in Radcliff, KY And maaaaaaybe my rotten Booth Cat will agree to attend again.

I'm not religious, but I hear that a bunch of people celebrated a Bronze Age carpenter today. Meanwhile, I cut wood for two doors with some very non-Bronze Age tools. These will be mounted on a barn door rail to keep my studio assistants OUT of my studio when I'm not in there.

I have a photography station again! Still have more stuff to unpack and sort and need to hang some power strips from the ceiling for better electrical access, but the new studio space is coming along nicely.

In front of a white backdrop, a table covered with engineered wood flooring is flanked by a pair of photography umbrella lights.

He figured out how to get past the folding screen, but he was NOT expecting a fireplace screen to be behind it. Curses, foiled again!

Having used his clever not-so-little paws to slip past the folding screen barrier, a 9-month old kitten has had his plans to attack his human mom's mop thwarted by a fireplace screen.

I'm cleaning and preparing half of my basement to be my new studio space, and Mercury does NOT appreciate being blocked out of the area with a folding screen.

A 9-month old kitten plots how he might gain super powers so that he can leap over or break through the irritating barrier keeping him from being both figuratively and literally under his human mom's feet.

I have the flu and presently sound like Shohreh Aghdashloo but in a very unsexy way.

I am pleased to report that Mister Murderface did NOT murder anyone at the vet's office today, though he did leave them in fear for their lives until they could get him wrapped up in a towel and sedated. Fortunately, his eye may end up healing fine on its own, and he had a clean bill of health.

A black cat with an injured left eye glares at the camera in a manner his human finds endearing, but others (correctly) find terrifying.
