The Wire, season 1, episode 1: "The Target" (Newbies edition)

It's hard for me to imagine being bored, but I also realize it's unlike any other tv show. You have to be fully engaged. They plant seeds that don't bloom until seasons later. I would strongly recommend reading this blog while you watch: The show pays off in ways no other show has ever

As discussed frequently, it's time to start revisiting the first season of the best drama in TV history, "The Wire." Because I know some rea...

Also big ups to Pen15 being on here. Louis is hurt by the star's off screen antics, but that show was top tier and likely worth a rewatch. I called the episode that won them an Emmy (Pregnant Sister visit. Big build up with huge payoff)

fwiw, I saw this as a final Jeopardy answer/(question? ) and all 3 contestants got it wrong. It is certifiably stupid.

Please convince my wife to let us watch Deadwood. Cocksucker.

I need you to be. The whole world needs a top tier Mebs

Fargo, to me, is the biggest surprise here. That show was pure cinema each year it came out. I have problems with the order of some shows of course, but list is decent.

I've seen a LOT of these shows. It's a decent list. A couple of thoughts: Atlanta in the top 10 is amazing! Such an underrated show. BB isn't even better than Saul, much less The Wire. Insecure making the list is a small nod to diversity, but leaving off LoveCraft Country is pretty crazy.

Yeah they were the house band with tons of guests including Brownie. I came up with Eric in LA as the band was forming. Good times

😂. Gould killed it at the Cap this weekend!

Good to see this here. Black folks across the south are being lynched in high numbers here and not one post about it on this platform

They have any ties/members of the old band?

And still, one of my fav story lines was when they got caught up with that young man stranger and pre-emptively chose violence to escape. Very poignant

Still worth it, but I do scream “kill them!!” all the time about them

I know a dude with that same basic story but he didn’t work in a tower, just nearby. (Carm)

I don’t dial 911 either. We have a police alternative number that sends social workers for things many folks call police on. I kinda doubt that’s what this is tho
