What does it mean when the status page for Microsoft services is one of the things that's down? I'm going to take a wild guess and say that the Microsoft outage is not yet resolved. Maybe this is a good time to sell my domain "thecloudisdown.com." #microsoftoutage #cloudoutage #thecloudisdown

A screen capture taken on January 22, 2026, showing the status page for Microsoft's cloud services is itself currently unavailable.

I'm saving up these 4,870 free hours of AOL for a rainy day. Just think: For 202 days in a row, I can wistfully await the words that were the epitome of a life lived online: "You've got mail!" #aol #internet #tech #technology #nostalgia #nerdstuff #americaonline #cdrom #cdroms #youvegotmail #the90s

A photo of America Online CDs, versions 3 through 9. Version 3 gave you 50 free hours. By the time Version 9 rolled around, you got 1175. Lucky you. (Somewhere I surely have versions 1.0 and 2.0 on floppy disks.)

Sometimes I miss the days when the Internet could be confined to a box and tucked away in the back of a closet where it could do no harm. #internet #theinternet #tech #technology #nostalgia #nerds #nerdstuff #internetinabox #compuserv #ithinkistillhavethisboxsomwhere #maybeishoulddestroyit

A photo of "The Internet in a Box," version 2.0. The package contained software for connecting Windows machines to the Internet (a TCP/IP stack, telnet and FTP clients, newsgroup readers, Compuserv... all the good stuff). It was purchased at a closeout sale, probably in about 1996.

@thehill.com - It doesn't inspire confidence in a news site when it runs "Sponsored Content" like the image below. Sure, the photo of the Social SecuuririTty ADMiNiSTRATiON building looks real, but the headline implying that Congress did something? No one will believe that. #ads #stupid #funny #web

A screen capture of "Sponsored Content" that appeared on thehill.com on 4/4/2025. It shows senior citizens lined up at the doors of the "Social SecuuririTty ADMiNiSTRATiON" building.
