Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 19/07/2026FIFA fixed it for Argentina to get to the final, but they couldn’t fix it for them to win. Infantino must be gutted! 010
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 19/07/2026I didn’t have the referee in the World Cup final giving out yellow card and a red on my bingo card tonight! Delighted that he was strong and aware of Argentina’s antics. Happy for Spain who played football against a team that didn’t have a shot on target and only one off target right at the end. 030
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 18/07/2026Commiserations to Spain on losing the World Cup final, but we’ve suspected that this tournament has been rigged towards the winners. I didn’t want to believe it and in the main it’s been a very watchable competition. Such a shame that it has ultimately ended this way. Time for a new FIFA 000
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 08/04/2026Thanks for all of your contributions which are included in this latest issue. Good to see that the copies that I posted out to you last Thursday have arrived safely today 010
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 12/02/2026You modestly forgot to add Ryan Sparks’ secret diary, 20 BCAFC objects, Book Review and Programmed for an interesting season! Really happy with the content in this issue and hopefully this issue will sell well over the next 6 weeks 010
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 09/02/2026CG252 has been printed and I picked it up from the printers this evening. Tomorrow I’ll be posting out the subscriber copies and all being well they’ll arrive before the weekend. CG252 will be on sale at VP on Saturday, before, at h/t and after the Peterborough match. 000

Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 22/12/2025If anyone would like to order a copy of CG251 and have it arrive before Christmas, then today is probably the last chance to order a copy from the City Gent web site. CG251 is £4.95 which includes postage. Otherwise, copies of CG251 will be on sale on Boxing Day from 2pm 011
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 13/12/2025The next issue (CG251) is at the printers and due to be delivered on the 16th. CG250 is virtually sold out as John W has only 6 copies left to sell today. I have none left and as I’m still feeling the affects of the super flu I had last week, I’m not doing any selling today 000
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 10/12/20252 page spread in the Bradford Telegraph & Argus with an article written by me regarding the current City Gent exhibitions being displayed at The Record Cafe and Heaton Tennis Club. CG250 has undergone a new design and we hope that CG readers will like it, though it has meant the cost of CG has gone up to £3. 010

Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 16/08/2025Just to let everyone know that I’m still having difficulty getting CG249 printed at the moment, so it is not ready for sale yet. We are close to getting it printed next week and it should be on sale in 2 weeks at the Wimbledon home match. I’ll post more updates next week 000
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 02/08/2025I wasn’t able to get City Gent issue 249 printed and ready for sale today, just in case fans are wondering why there won’t be any CG presence at VP this afternoon. All being well, CG249 will be out in 2 weeks at the Luton home game. Here is the front cover cartoon as a teaser! 130
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 11/05/2025Today marks the 40th anniversary of the tragic and devastating fire at Valley Parade on May 11th 1985. We remember those fans that went to watch a game of football never to return home. Over 200 fans were badly injured and thousands have lived with awful memories of what they witnessed that day. 041
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 02/05/2025Delighted to have taken part in this event which opens on Friday May 9th at Leeds City Library. I’m also taking part in a panel discussion event with Q&As on Saturday 14th June. 051
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 26/04/2025You know how excited all bcafc fans were seeing Andy Cook running? Can you imagine if GA had the balls to list him as a sub but not thinking of using him, but then there’s an important penalty that needs to be taken. What a “boss” move it would be to put him on and then take him off after he scores! 010
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 26/04/2025Pundits have been joking about nobody seemed to be wanting to get promoted from League Two, but Doncaster and Port Vale both won today and congrats to them. But City and Walsall continue to shy away from taking their chance. Thanks to Accrington, it’s mad that it is still in City’s own hands! 000
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 26/04/2025Financially, I’m sure that it’s better for the club to go up via the playoffs, but this does nothing for, the collective nerves of the #bcafc fans who would forget all the terrible things that have happened in April for a win at Wembley in May. Trouble is, that’s not guaranteed is it? 210
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 26/04/2025Not happened yet, but if we miss out on automatic promotion it will have been our own fault. Thankfully there is still a chance of doing it the hard way via the playoffs, but the way we have played during April, you have to question if their heads from some of them have gone? 010
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 26/04/2025For all the good things that #bcafc did from Boxing Day to the end of March has all been undone by the way they have tackled the games in April. Truly dreadful month, barring the Crewe home win, and it’s been mostly self inflicted. Looks like it’s going to be the playoffs lottery now! 040
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 13/04/2025Still seething about yesterday All we can do now is make sure we win next Thursday to make amends I now make it 3-2 in 9 goal games that end 5-4 which involve #bcafc 23/03/85 Brentford H-W 5-4 12/02/00 West Ham A-L 4-5 16/10/04 Tranmere A-W 5-4 22/08/09 Cheltenham A-W 5-4 12/04/25 Swindon A-L 4-5 230
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 09/04/2025Been a busy couple of days at City Gent Towers and I’m happy to report that a 64 page issue CG248 has gone to print today. I’m hoping that the printed copies will be back at CG Towers next week in time to be sold at the Notts County home game on Thursday 17th April 010
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 05/04/2025Well done to the club and all the volunteers that placed the claret and amber cards on the seats which were held up to make Valley Parade a sea of colour this afternoon 030
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 05/04/2025Today’s win over Crewe makes it 51 points gained from 21 home league games which equals the record set by the 1984/85 title winning side gained. With 2 important home games left to play against Notts Co and Fleetwood, the record can be broken and it’ll be vital the we beat the Magpies on April 17th 010
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 04/03/2025The names of Lapslie and Mellon will be in the record books for scoring the goals tonight, but for me it was more about the assists by Tayo Adaramola and Jamie Walker. Without their tenacious and skilful play there wouldn’t have been the chances for Lapslie and Mellon to put away. Walker motm by far 020
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 04/03/2025To the #bcafc fans going to the Cheltenham home game tonight, there’s a second chance to buy a copy of the latest issue of City Gent for just £2. CG247 was on sale at the MK Dons game, but if you missed it then, look out for us before and after the game tonight 020
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 23/02/2025Thanks to everyone that bought a copy of CG247 at VP yesterday afternoon and I hope that you’ll enjoy reading this issue. Next opportunity to buy a copy of CG247 will be on Tuesday March 4 at the Cheltenham home game when City go for a record 10th successive home win. CG247 can be ordered online 020
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 22/02/2025Another win for Bradford City again this afternoon, 2-0 against MK Dons. That is now nine successive home wins which equals the record set back in the 1952/53 season. There was another run of nine successive home wins in 1962 but that stretched over the end of one season and the start of the next 020
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 19/02/2025I might be wrong, but I reckon that somewhere in Bradford today, a coach trip to London on April 13th was cancelled! 020
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 18/02/2025No disgrace in that performance against the leaders of League One. Heroic defeat as #bcafc more than matched the home side who know that their path to Wembley was not the walkover that they expected. Been a good and profitable cup run, but now to concentrate on the promotion run 0140
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 18/02/2025If the referee had given a penalty to the home side I don’t think there could have been any complaints, but what a superb counter attack, sumptuous cross from Sarcevic and emphatic finish by Pointion from close range. 1-1 With Stansfield going off injured, there’s going to be a lot of added time 040
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 18/02/2025Damn! #bcafc did everything right in the first half up until the final minute of added time. Poor free kick to give away, poor punch from Walker from the free kick and punished by a classy finish by their star striker Stansfield. 030
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 18/02/2025Places where #bcafc qualified for a trip to Wembley 1996 - Blackpool 2013 - Birmingham (Aston Villa) 2013 - Burton 2017 - Fleetwood Three Bs Places where #bcafc didn’t quality for a trip to Wembley 2015 - Reading 2016 - Millwall 2023 - Carlisle 2024 - Bradford 130
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 17/02/2025CG247 turned up expectedly early from the printers last Friday afternoon and the subscription copies should be dropping through subscriber letterboxes this week. CG247 is available to order via the CG website and it will be on sale at VP on Saturday from 2pm when City play MK Dons. 030
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 12/02/2025I thought the pressing that all the team did last night was exemplary from the first minute to the last. 020
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 11/02/2025I’m happy that bcafc needed only one goal to beat Accrington Stanley tonight because Pattison’s howitzer deserved to be the winning goal. 8 home wins in succession is a remarkable achievement. I’ve just double checked the record books and there was an 8 game winning streak in the 1967-8 season 020
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 07/01/2025I’m really sad to hear the news about Andy Cook’s ACL which means he faces surgery and months of rehab. City will cope without him because they have to, but it’s devastating for the player and I wish him all the best for a full and speedy recovery. 050
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 29/12/2024There’s another chance to buy a copy of CG246 at VP this afternoon for those fans that missed us on Boxing Day. CG246 is still only £2 and full of interesting articles to read over what is left of the festive season, plus we have some copies left of CG245 which are now just £1. 010
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 26/12/2024Much better from bcafc this afternoon and a fine victory thanks to Andy Cook’s brace of goals. They’ve got to show the same drive and determination on Sunday against Chesterfield. Thanks also to all that bought a copy of CG246 plus I managed to sell a few copies of CG245 for a quid! 030
Mike Harrison @thecitygent.bsky.social · 26/12/2024Can #bcafc win a home Boxing Day fixture for the first time since 2012 this afternoon? Probably not, but I hope they prove me wrong! CG246 will be on sale so do remember to bring along £2 cash today for some excellent festive holiday reading. Copies of the previous issue, CG245 are now just £1 010
