#JanuaryWorldbuilders Jehan Va’Reen, known to history as the one who discovered the art of Blood Magic, was a disgraced member of the Vaak’Rian Nobility who took up arms in the Vlaa’Du Coalition to destroy the Vaak’Ri. While not completely sympathetic to coalition ideals, their legend lives on.

Their rule cemented the Zladian Protectorate as a major power before its collapse. Zladia never truly recovered for centuries.

#JanuaryWorldbuilders Magic can be a dangerously unstable force if used incorrectly, and that force will destroy anything in its path, whether it be living or dead. Ornia magic is simply channeled energy from the universe, and that energy is everywhere and always waiting to be unleashed.

Had the thought of doing a robot horror thing. Decided to write it! #Writing

As I run through the halls only one thought is running through my head: Why am I running? The machine was going to catch me; and even if I did get out, where would I go? I’d just be leading it straight to the exit. The mechanical steps are bouncing in these halls, that rhythmic sound of six metal pads crunching into the tile. It can move fast, so why isn’t it? Is it running out of battery, or has it simply calculated that speed was no longer beneficial to hunting me? Every high-pitched pulse sent out as it moves sends waves of searing pain through the arm I am holding so tight now. When I first encountered it, among all the screaming and adrenaline, I remember feeling a sharp stab. Did it shoot me with a tracker? Does it want me to find the exit for it? Whatever the case, these halls are a maze. A maze that, despite walking through them for months now, I have forgotten my way in. Maybe this is good, I ponder to myself, if I’m lost then it’ll be lost too. I duck into a room, the central communications hub. This must be where it struck first after breaking out, the blood is all dark and dead. Only one thing to do, I press the single red button that simply reads Site Lost. Now it won’t ever get out, and even if it does it’ll be met with security forces trained to handle it. The steps are getting closer now, as I lay myself against the wall. Though I die here, it will not be the end. Our research has provided fruit, and this will be an excellent field demonstration to show our benefactor. It is coming into the room now, and my vision suddenly ends.

Decided that I’m gonna move away from reposting cats and just do more writing here, might to a new introduction message as well… Either way, here’s a new creative writing thing! #Writing #Fantasy

Some have called my use of blood magic “evil.” They believe that it will corrupt and consume me, taking my autonomy and turning me into nothing more than the Blood Butcher the Vaak’Ri have referred to me as. Those who believe this are mainly of the peasantry, superstitious fools they are. Magic has no morality attached to it, for it is simply the usage of the energy that freely flows around all things. They only believe in this “corruption” because of the ramblings of those who have witnessed me, and they cannot fathom the difference between how I act towards my allies and how I act towards my enemies. Nonetheless, I admit I am drawn to continue learning of this magic I discovered; this magic which allowed me to fulfill my destiny as one of the nobility. Perhaps I have simply stumbled upon a discovery greater than I imagined, the only form of magic that is inherently “evil.” It has managed to prolong my life, preserve my youth, and give me abilities beyond my initial hopes, after all. If they see Jehan Va’Reen as nothing more than a heartless butcher of those who oppose them, then who am I to stop them? I cannot control their beliefs, no matter how utterly ridiculous they are. The only thing I can truly control is myself, and I shall let nobody take that control from me.
