Captain Coder @thecaptaincoder.bsky.social · 13/12/2024I've really enjoyed working with TIC-80 for its minimalistic games. Raylib is another minimalistic library for games that I have mad several small games with. Defold appears feature full and promising but i have not tried it. 130

Captain Coder @thecaptaincoder.bsky.social · 30/11/2024A great suggestion! I typically use TryGetComponent when the component is guaranteed to be a sibling. However, there is no such method for GetComponentInParent / GetComponentInChildren. 010
Captain Coder @thecaptaincoder.bsky.social · 30/11/2024I've been following the development of this game for about a year it is always amazing to see the progress! I love the color palette ❤️ 130
Captain Coder @thecaptaincoder.bsky.social · 30/11/2024Using sharplab.io to see the desugaring of the pattern seems to suggest it should be safe. But, I'm not sure Unity will do something different: tinyurl.com/is-match-exa...tinyurl.comSharpLabC#/VB/F# compiler playground. 000
Captain Coder @thecaptaincoder.bsky.social · 30/11/2024#Unity3D/#Unity2D devs, Is it safe to use `is` matching on calls to GetComponent methods? I know that Unity overloads `null` comparisons but I'm uncertain if there are unintended side effects in this case. I've attached a screenshot showing the null check vs the pattern match for reference. 320
