Ostriches, red kangaroos, and zebras can all deliver extremely fast, powerful kicks. Estimates place ostrich kicks at around 80–112 km/h, while red kangaroos and zebras may reach roughly 64–96 km/h. Speed, strength, and leg structure make these kicks effective for defense.

Leaving your washing machine door closed after a cycle can trap moisture inside the drum and rubber seal, creating a damp environment where mold and odors can develop.  Keeping the door slightly open improves airflow, helps moisture evaporate, and keeps the washer fresher between loads.

Your Reflexes Move Before You Feel Pain - Reflexes protect your body before you consciously feel pain. Sensory neurons send danger signals to the spinal cord, which instantly activates motor neurons and pulls the limb away while another signal travels to the brain.

Boiling time completely changes an egg’s texture.  Around 4 minutes gives a very runny yolk, 6 minutes creates a soft center, 8 minutes turns it jammy, 10 minutes makes it firm, and about 12 minutes produces a fully hard-boiled egg.  Even a few minutes can make a big difference.

Chronic stress can affect the hippocampus, a brain region essential for memory and learning.  Long-term exposure to elevated stress hormones has been linked with reduced hippocampal volume and weaker memory performance, showing how prolonged stress can influence both brain structure and function.

The skull is built from several bones joined by strong fibrous sutures. The frontal, parietal, and occipital bones protect the brain, while landmarks such as the coronal, sagittal, and lambdoid sutures mark their boundaries. Internal grooves also accommodate major blood vessels and venous sinuses.

Your body can work as a surprisingly useful measuring tool. A finger segment is about 1 inch, your thumb roughly 2 inches, and different hand spans can estimate 4–9 inches. Even your forearm can approximate 18 inches. These measurements vary by person, but they’re handy when no ruler is nearby.
