For years, whenever someone would tell me they can only draw a stick figure, I'd explain, the more I learned about art, the more I realized almost everything you see can be broken down into lines, simple shapes and forms. And they'd be suprised how often I start gestures with a "stick figure"

Illustration of a masculine figure lounging and broken down into simple lines, shapes and shaded 3D forms

A feminine figure clutching a dress and broken down into lines, shapes and 3D forms.

A bunch of basic 3D forms like cylinders, cones, spheres and rounded boxes followed by a few items around the house I broke down using these shapes. Such as realizing the kettle was mainly a couple cylinders and half a cone, and the toaster was a box rounded at the top with rectangular slats.
