Glitch thankfully responded today and permanently banned the racist fan (tweet regarding it is here) but it did collectively take the black fans in the community to repeatedly say something to get the official moderation to notice. People like Gooseworx will make 20 billion fucking posts about people getting a bit too attached to their shitty characters and shipping but are always dead silent when it comes racism or any form of bigotry in their community they usually watch like a stern teacher.

It’s kind of disturbing the level to which nonblack fans rushed to defend and say the cast did nothing wrong, even though the Vas explicitly apologized and acknowledged that the behavior was hurtful. it’s weird that Goose is silent despite participating in the racism and chose to make jokes instead

Makes me sad because while the cast that were involved in the recent controversies applogized (except for gooseworx who is noticeably silent) it led to some fan at the expo panel saying slurs. Thankfully glitch banned the person but it’s a harsh reminder black people aren’t safe in these spaces.

The fact it happened multiple times doesn’t help either. Yes people can change and grow as individuals but it is deeply insulting when nonblack people would rather defend racism then admit that maybe the person they put on a pedestal did something wrong.

It’s like multiple people in the cast either making the jokes, giggling along, or in the case of some actually just straight up saying the word explicitly. It makes me disappointed that non black fans were rushing to dismiss it altogether when It’s not their apology to forgive to begin with.

It makes me sad. Had she just stated “thank you for letting me know that the merch was effected the skintones, I’ll talk to the company” in the main post & didn’t delete anyone comments clarifying this none of this would’ve happened. People would’ve understood and forgave it. I know I would have.

Her response was to block me on tumblr, blueksky, instagram and other socials for me for clarifying this to another fan who said they were confused. She then removed my comment and rb from view entirely So that any mention of whitewashing was gone.

I politely let her know that the skintone on mirabelle was lightened on her post in February. No response. I then made a post in March, thinking that maybe my reply got lost due to all the notifs or tumblrs glitchy Ui. I tag her directly and politely explain how yetee printer may be causing it.

We decided to give her grace and hope that it would improve over time that it was a simple one time mistake. It wasn’t. For those unable to look at tumblr TLDR: fans for years in the isat community talked about some of the official merch being whitewashed. when I was official moderator at the time in 2024, me and another friend brings up this issue in the staff chat. We were told it would be fixed. It wasn’t
