The existence of the no cussing club implies the existence of a cussing club and that sounds fucking awesome

New song! This is a bouncy, groovy bop with plenty of seething aggression to tie it together. Really fun guitar solo after the bridge too! open.spotify.com/album/77w6Ou...

Another longshot, since I know most of my fans here aren't local, but we've got a local show coming up! Saturday, May 16th, alongside Living Dissection, Seeding the Dead, and Dhruv Talekar. We'll be performing a super-sized set featuring some new songs and a big surprise from the back catalog 😁

I have to listen to my new album in full twice today please send help. This is sarcasm. This is actually my favorite day of the year

001

The Biscuit Merchant @thebiscuitmerchant.bsky.social · 16/03/2026

Unexplained Wounds is 5 years old today! It feels so much older than that. But to be fair, a lot of stuff has happened since then. I love this record. There's a certain confidence in these songs that makes me feel creatively nourished and satisfied. It just doesn't give a shit

The Biscuit Merchant @thebiscuitmerchant.bsky.social · 10/03/2026

Working working working. Sometimes (okay always) I wish music making was just...making music. But it turns out most of it is actually uploading files and sending emails.

Been revisiting a lot of classic albums lately. This one really hit the spot today

The Biscuit Merchant @thebiscuitmerchant.bsky.social · 20/02/2026

Spun an old favorite yesterday. This one's an all-timer. I think Supercrush could pull me out of the absolute worst depression imaginable

I noticed that metal show posters are putting band names in plain text underneath their incomprehensible logos and I legit love it lol

Last "first mix" is in the bag! Very cool to hear everything in a row. I'll be honest; I wasn't sure how this album was going to shape up. The focus was squarely on each individual song. So I was a bit worried they wouldn't flow well. I'm no longer worried. It flows just fine. Songs are tight af too

The Biscuit Merchant @thebiscuitmerchant.bsky.social · 02/02/2026

10/11 songs are polished and ready for mixing! Songs are all sounding super tight and breezy. Looking forward to the rest of the process!

Totally unrelated, but I'm starting to get into composing retro-ish (PS1/N64 style) video game music too. If you know anyone who wants some cheap, custom, non-AI tracks, hit me up!

The Biscuit Merchant @thebiscuitmerchant.bsky.social · 07/01/2026

To say I'm excited about the 2026 band would be a huge understatement. I can't wait to storm stages with these guys. They add so much energy to these songs. Justin Lawnchair - Guitar/Vocals Dan Hunter - Bass Guitar Dhruv Talekar - Rhythm Guitar/Backing Vocals Alonso Umana - Drums

Counting down to 2026, I'd like to introduce my band for next year! Mostly familiar faces, but there might be a surprise in store. First off, me! I know it might come as a surprise. But yes, I am in fact in the band.

The Biscuit Merchant @thebiscuitmerchant.bsky.social · 24/10/2025

Recorded some really cool stuff for next year's instrumental track today. Started out as just a weird series of odd-time arpeggios, and it's morphed into a sonatina of sorts. Three distinct sections. Main part of the opening section sounds a bit like early Scale the Summit (for people that remember)

It's Bandcamp Friday! Great opportunity to catch up on your biscuits. I'd recommend Tempora if you want something proggy and melodic, Visible Scars if you want something to rip your face off, and Phobia if you want both! thebiscuitmerchant.bandcamp.com

It's been a quiet time in Biscuit land lately, but here's a fun little curio. Back in January/February we did a live session at a local studio in Detroit. It was a bit of a warm up for our first gig in March. Live recording, no click! Super energetic. youtu.be/vAiBg-_JOMY?...

Black Sabbath Discog Run Pt 2 - Paranoid Yeah, everyone knows Paranoid is good. Still blows me away though. It holds up today, but listening to it in 1970 historical context is mind-destroying. War Pigs, Electric Funeral, Hand of Doom. Come on. This is the heaviest shit on EARTH at the time.

The Biscuit Merchant @thebiscuitmerchant.bsky.social · 01/08/2025

Black Sabbath Discog Run Part 1 - Black Sabbath Next discog run, for obvious reasons. It's incredible how strong the band is already. NIB is such a well-crafted and well-performed song. And the title track is INSANE. This was the heaviest thing ever at the time, and for many years after.

A new review from Progressive Subway! Seems they liked the overall vibe and performances, but didn't care for the jumpy songwriting. Understandable! It's a chaotic ride at times. theprogressivesubway.com/2025/07/12/r...
