Eclipse casually shot from our roof top window. Was too lazy to leave the house after a long day… I guess that’s what‘s called „age“ 😬

I would like to precise this statement: SEVERE respiratory viral infections do– mild infection even slowed down cancer growth. Pretty interesting!

Amygdalas doing amygdala things... Never will forget how I asked these people to look to their right, when walking a botanical garden in the Seychelles 😂

Really, really fantastic new building for teachers but particularly our students- housing the new library as well with plenty of study lounges and rooms. Thank you very much @klaus-tschira-stiftung.de for making this possible!

It was so great to meet that many fellow Bartenschlager alumni at the #gfv2026 🤗 Some of us are still around in Heidelberg, but others head their own labs far away in Italy or even Canada! Hope to see all of you (and all the others) soon again, so many memories...

Hey @vectorbuilder.bsky.social, you serious? This marketing strategy is a fringe scam! I never contacted you, never responded to any email, what thread are you talking about?! Close what you have opened and leave me alone! (not saying it's a bad company, heard good things, but this is outrageous)

The pre-Christmas season was just too busy, so we had our winter get-together in January! A mug or three of Mulled Wine and a sausage from the grill anyway are much more tasty in beautifully clear and ice-cold January weather ❄️🧦🧣🧤🤗

At 300 km/h back home, gotta love the french at the very least for their railway! And: no silly paper tickets for the Paris Metro anymore, instead simply use the Apple Wallet 🤩 I could go on and on… Lyon rebuilt and rebuilds most of their roads to be Oneway and hold a physically separate bike lane!

Very interesting! Academic Freedom across the world, differs quite drastically. 🇺🇸👀 Let me add: the report measured parameters as of Dec 2024, so *before* two billionaire lunatics started shredding US science... But also others (🇩🇪 included) are decreasing… www.volkswagenstiftung.de/de/news/aktu...

Yes, well possible it’s different mechanisms, but note that also in our case IL1 and TNF priming was NOT dependent on IFNAR; ISGs, particularly the RLRs, were induced in an IFNAR-independent but IRF1 dependent manner.

In fact, also family members who never caught the infection, by all we can say, had the same elevated sACE2! No self-reporting, no positive PCR- or antigen-test, and even serological (antibody) analyses stayed negative! They only were exposed to (lived in same house as) an infected person. (4/6)

Happy place Heidelberg! It's beautiful (amongst the places with most tourists in all Germany), it has more academics (%) than almost any other German city, lower than average unemployment and, and, and... But much of the money we earn is consumed by overly high costs of living: place 346 of 400 😳
