When people dismissively refer to "bluesky posters" this is who they are referring to.
a post from (at) neomeruru.bsky.social reads "I doubt the veracity of online IQ tests has improved since I was a precocious teenager hungry for validation, but it does still feel weirdly gratifying to see 'Your score falls between the top 1st and 5th percentiles among IQ test takers.'"

it has 4 likesThe profile for (at) neomeruru.bsky.social reads: "🇨🇦 Senior writer @ Riyo Games on Threads of Time. BAFTA-losing writer of I Was A Teenage Exocolonist, Eisner-nominated creator of Motherlover. None gender, all beef. No TERFS, no AI/NFT/crypto."

a quick peek at the channels other videos.
Two youtube thumbnails, the first a picture of Mark Pincus the founder of Zynga (helpfully labeled) next to big title text "Step one: copy them" and Tony Fadell, an iPod, iPhone, Nest (apparently, according to the helpful label) next to the text "We're losing taste"

trying to catch up on some Silicon Valley insider beef and here's the sort of advertising on a podcast that interviews LinkedIn executives. these are not real companies, no ensouled human being has ever "used" one of these "products," what are we even doing with economy anymore.
a splash screen for something called "Lenny's Newsletter" advertising the "growing library of world-class products" surrounded by names and logos for companies like "n8n" and "Magic Patterns." obviously fake companies invented for some sort of background gag in 30 Rock or Tim Robinson montage.

They contacted the police and pulled over into a parking lot. I'm not sure what else people want the corporate entity "Waymo" to do here. apnews.com/article/waym...
From the article:
Photos from a bystander shared with a local TV station showed the teens hanging out of the Waymo’s windows. Police say they determined they were drinking in the car and shooting Orbeez, which are soft, water-absorbent polymer beads, out into the streets.

Waymo pulled the vehicle over into a parking lot and let officers know they were doing so.

“The occupants were not locked in and had every ability to exit the vehicle,” Luna said in an email.

Officers were able to communicate with a Waymo representative through the vehicle’s communication system during the stop, Luna said.

The San Mateo Police Department posted about the incident on social media and warned people about underage drinking and the danger of water bead guns.

this is an obvious bluff that will still probably work on Dem leadership (derogatory)
But Republicans have been daring Democrats to enter a political fight over the issue of military pay.

“If the Democrats want to go to court and challenge troops being paid, bring it,” Speaker Mike Johnson said at a news conference on Tuesday.

Another factor is the institutional money has been (more or less) leaving the market and the influx of money is from retail investors, the exact sort of petty bourgeois element with extra cash and a pro-Trump media diet.
There’s also another important factor at work. While writing at my publication Notes on the Crises this year, I have argued that stock markets are “conventional wisdom processors.” What this means is that traders do not simply buy and sell on new information but on how they believe this new information fits into their compatriots’ views of the world. This may not seem like a major distinction, but it is. A Trump win last November was anticipated to be “good” for stocks by their conventional wisdom, and indeed, the stock market went up after his election. These “conventional wisdoms” can be surprisingly sturdy in the face of events that seem explosive to us outsiders.

UK Labour moment
Nigel Farage's Reform UK has secured victory by six votes over Labour in Runcorn and Helsby as Sir Keir Starmer failed his first by-election test as Prime Minister.

The narrow victory for new MP Sarah Pochin saw Reform taking a constituency which Labour won with a majority of almost 14,700 less than 12 months ago.

The result came as Reform made gains against both Labour and the Conservatives across England in local contests, with Mr Farage claiming a "big moment" was taking place in politics.

The by-election was triggered when former Labour MP Mike Amesbury quit after admitting punching a constituent.
