Had a friend or two suggest me to try out CS2 as a way to branch out from just 90s multiplayer games and my god this legit made me sleepy. Something just seems bland about it and the staple gun like sound effects makes me want to play CS 1.6 (or Source) instead.

Screenshot of me playing casual Counter-Strike 2 with bots. Not surprising at all.

Note that this was my first-ever recap attempt and wasn't the cleanest obviously. And people often recommend starting with through-hole capacitors first before tackling SMD.

The nearly complete recapping of the Apple Macintosh IIsi with tantalum capacitors.

Closer look of some of the tantalum capacitors. My first-time and rough around the edges.

Another look of some of the tantalum capacitors. My first-time and rough around the edges. I also burnt a bit of plastic by accident while placing one. (see the button on the logic board)

This PSU (from the Macintosh IIsi) appears to be one of the most notorious thanks to the use of electrolytic capacitors. Often difficult and not always successful. The logic board is nearly complete but can't go any further without a working PSU. Hopefully next month with a modern replacement.

A closer look at the corroded area of the Macintosh IIsi power supply. My god the webs!

I got this today and started a restoration which could go on for about a month or two. The PSU looks to have suffered more damage than the logic board. I really like the design though. About the same as my Optiplex GX110 in size, and looks like a chonky version of the LC.

shareware doom enemies in the style of commander keen 1-3. i made these for a reimagining of doom e1 as a platformer in the keen 1 engine that my brother Melodic Spaceship is working on (he also made the keenguy player sprite edit, seen here too for scale)

zombieman, imp, pinky and baron from doom in the style of commander keen 1-3, plus 1 frame of an edit of the keen player sprite to look more like doomguy, added here for scale (player sprite edit done by melodic spaceship but the rest is by me)

Here is footage of the game in action! Some note worth differences had to be the player moves upward each level change and the boss encounter lacks any health indicator but the boss graphic tends to flicker the more you shoot at them.

Warcraft III is one I heard many good things but wasn't for me due to me preferring 2D RTS. For multiplayer, I add most of the 90s LucasArt games. Outlaws felt hard to tell if shots did land (only played the remaster) and Jedi Knight felt rough with only two weapons being useful.
