The thing I think that happened today was that they still played to GA's template, but it probably didn't quite land because Duff doesn't really want to do the same thing. I suspect we will see a subtle change for next week. It might be a little change in midfield or 2 up top, bit something small

Actually quite excited about today. One reason is the length of time since we had a league game at home, then there is the Michael Duff thing. I wouldn't imagine that to much will change today in either line up, expectation or intensity. Hope the fans really back Duff and the team hear that we are

A lot to digest tonight. We knew Duff was going to be appointed, but I don't think I was the only one thinking that something was wrong. Maybe that's the legacy of being a City fan. Anyway, it's done and I think it is probably the best combination of history of some success, similar style and

Decent point really. At least that would have been the thought before the game. The way it played out was a bit different, but essentially it's still a decent point. At half-time, I couldn't remember a single Reading chance that had me worried. We had managed to score and have one disallowed plus

A strange feeling around today's game. On the one hand, there the same group of players, working with coaches who are familiar to them probably doing very similar things and getting a very similar message. On the other hand, its not the same manager they signed for. It's not coming from a place of

Not sure why there are a couple of fans arguing about Emma Hayes. There is genuinely no reason why she would leave her current job for us,.but if she did, she would be bloody brilliant. Don't think we are that brave, even if she was out of work.

Starting to get pretty nervous about this appointment. It's just over a week since we found out that GA was likely to go and now we are heading into the first game with no real idea of what is next. I trust Trueman with keeping us stable, but really wanted someone in by now. Not heard any credible

I genuinely don't understand why people think that appointing Heckingbottom is lazy. It would be lazy if they didn't bother doing due diligence and checking other managers or doing their homework on him, but I don't think that is what is happening. Please, let's be open minded, whoever it is.#bcafc

OK. Where do I start? Buckle up, this could be a long one. I, personally, had no issue with GA's appointment, but I did take issue that Sparks told us he was their #1 choice. We all knew that was horseshit. I remember it not starting well - did Barrow score 3 minutes into his first game? Something

Since the T&A seem to be confident today is the day, I feel like we can finally move on. I'd really like to think we are in a position to name our guy today too. Since there don't seem to be reports of us approaching anyone, it must be someone out of work, unless we were waiting to "ask" until the

Needs to be done today. This time, it is not for my benefit. We need someone with the squad during this week, even if they are not running everything or even selecting a team for Reading, we need them in place. Confirmed early, we already have someone lined up, done by Tuesday. #bcafc

Please announce it today #PNE Even though it's an apparent "done deal", until it's official I can't remove the little glimmer of hope. A list of stupid options for manager is the way I've decided to pass the time. I'm not talking about the ones that are obvious jokes (although if they are good, I

Heard a bit from #bcafc fans and #pne fans about "bigger club" this and "attendance" that. This decision is nothing to do with size of club, attendance or even the history of football. This is about whether one man wants to go back to a club where is was a legend as a player, or stay at a club

Genuinely gutted, even at the thought of it, even though it isn't official. I love that GA talks sense in interviews after games where so many spout rubbish - this can be positive and negative. Tuesday night was a case in point. At that stage I was convinced #PNE were looking elsewhere. GA did not

Not going to dwell much on tonight's game. GA summed it up perfectly. First half was poor, had to make subs an hour in to change it, and they did just that. If you haven't listened to his interview on Radio Leeds, then I would advise doing so - absolutely honest and forthright. While you are there

Had a lot of stuff on this morning so couldn't do a preview, but if I had, I would have been a touch pessimistic for a number of reasons. 1. Our record at Luton has been dismal 2. Luton are really good at home 3. They seem to save their best for better teams. As it happened, none of that mattered.

I wonder what #bcafc would have to do to not be shown virtually last on @itvsport.bsky.social EFL highlights each week? I mean, the commentator on the live game was quite clear that Notts County didn't look like scoring after the 4th minute and we had a few chances, but the highlights showed 4

Having not seen the first half, feared the worst when looking at comments. The stats were somewhat surprising to me - I expected to see total dominance from County in the stats and expected the commentators to be talking about how City were lucky to be level. Of course none of that happened. The

Perhaps the most interesting team selection of the season at 11.15 today. There is no consensus amongst fans, from what I can tell, about who should or shouldn't play. I expect closer to Mansfield than Leyton Orient, and yet any of those that played on Tuesday could easily play today. Notts County

Here's something I am finding difficult to organise in my head. I watch Jake Beesley and I know he is giving the team more of what it needs than Humphrys does. (Look back on my thoughts from last season, I was definitely a Humphs believer until the very last game so don't accuse me of being a hater)

Well, there was a lot there to sort through and there will be more than a few decisions for GA to make on Saturday. I'll start with the most obvious and biggest talking point. Humphrys. Where do you start? The performance was excellent, no doubt. Great assist, great goal and made a nuisance of

An interesting conundrum for GA tonight. On the one hand, a very winnable tie that could lead to a big draw against top Premier League opposition and perhaps a gate receipts windfall. On the other, we need to protect some players and give them a rest. Of, course Leyton Orient may well be thinking

Struggling to understand how I feel about yesterday. On the one hand, a win is a win. 3 points in the bag and not a great deal of stress once we scored. On the other, the second half was much worse than anything we produced against Cambridge. Ultimately, the first point is the most important. We

#bcafc Reset time for fans, I think. Tuesday was uncharacteristic and disappointing, but we need to go into today confident that we can get back to winning ways. We've been here before - if the crowd is nervous, it translates to the players. I think there may be a few changes today. Not wholesale

Feel like a lot of the fanbase have elevated Humphrys by virtue of him not playing. I defended Humphrys for a lot of last year, but could not defend his performance when he came on in the home olay-off game. He looked not in the least bit arsed, and I'm not talking about the body language which he

Excited about what the last 2 days of the window will bring. There's a slight worry that we panic buy, but evidence suggests that is not the MO of this recruitment team. If Wright and Humphs go (as rumoured) then there's a bit of money that can sure up the areas we need. Now, we wait... #bcafc

Big game today. Plymouth should be one of the better teams in the league, but have started slowly again. Taking points off them at this stage would not seem as important as if this was late in the season, but it's a decent time to go play there. That being said, they are probably one dedent

Looking forward to a good atmosphere tonight. Hope it will be a great occasion. It's always a tough one to predict - do we go full strength or try to manage a couple of players with an eye on Saturday? Just hope we give a good account of ourselves whichever way we go. I think we win on pens. #bcafc

#bcafc A very mature performance, especially after being let off in the first 15 minutes. A decent save, and excellent block and some terrible finishing meant 0-0 after 20 minutes was a massive win. Grumbling about the midfield had started, as I think will be the case every time we are pegged back

#bcafc Decent first showing and 3 of the more comfortable points we are likely to get. The main takeaway I have is that Beesley looks like a real handful and he's going to do an awful lot of work that gets other peoples chances to get the headlines. On a couple of occasions I wanted him to pull

Big respect to Sam Walker. Came in as "the keeping coach's mate" and left a club legend. I don't care what anyone says, he gained us more points than he lost us last season. The guy was great in the community too. An all-round good guy who happens to play football. Go well Sam. #bcafc

#bcafc I'm aware that my moan about moaning is starting early, but why do fans respond to official clubs posts about tickets with comments lite "have we signed a CM yet?" (or something similar)? It's like they think that the club will suddenly go "Oh, we need one of those? Best start looking."

It's been a bit of a week at #bcafc. Metcalfe has a great future ahead of him and a L1 team has to understand that, if you sign a youngster from a Premier league team, that you are there to get them game time and get the best out of them before they move on. You get a great player who has a real

I love how fans (I presume of all teams, although I haven't really searched for evidence) think they know exactly what has happened so they can be certain of their opinion. We don't know Power engineered a move. What is Wigan just decided to contact City with an offer we thought was decent and then

A good start to the window. Not going to sit here and tell anyone I know loads about Beesley, but we wanted a #9 and we've got a #9. As for the Power situation, I don't want to keep a player who wants to be elsewhere. I fully understand those reasons so don't think it's a statement about the club.

Nothing says off-season like #bcafc and #htafc fans bickering about who is the bigger club. Honestly, it's painful. One season finishing above them doesn't mean we are bigger, league titles before most current fans were born don't mean the opposite. We can have a bit of a brag about this year, but
